Guild Wars 2

I have a Norn Warrior with red tribal-style tattoos (the linear ones). Her hair is deep, dark, red in a pony-tail. She also has the scuffed up face and the middle muscular build (though I’m thinking about changing her to the bigger build later).

I really like the T3 cultural outfit. But I don’t want to pay 100g+ for. But I would be willing to pay for a couple of the pieces. I’d like to show off her tattoos in a Norn, NOT roman way. It’s so hard to find a good armor set that’s both revealing and not romanesque for warriors. T2’s a bit too romanesque for me. T3 actually looks “norny.” T1 is “norny” but 100% covered. Yes, I’m a female, who wants to show off my character’s awesome, intimidating physique and tattoos!! (but I want my human 100% covered ’cause they look awful)

Maybe the Vigil armor with different legs, gloves, hat, and boots or would that look funny? Maybe boots, gloves, legs, and hat could come from Norn cultural? Though the hat is less of an issue as she has an awesome ponytail.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hmm… it is a very similar set. I’m not too into the skulls ‘n bonesy look of the head/shoulders/gloves though. And I’m just not sold on the torn look of the set. The boots are worth looking into matching with another set though. HotW does look great and “Norny” but I won’t be able see the tattoos (probably something I’ll end up getting for her)… I like CT2’s chest plate.

I picked up t3 cultural chest, legs and boots (67g). Then I used draconic gauntlets and whatever for shoulders and helmet because I just hid those. I also wanted tattoos showing, and this combination had the desired effect :p

I’ve finally gotten my Norn Warrior to where I’m happy with her. Doesn’t show off the tats, but it does have some nice cultural flourishes .

One of the more popular combinations is T2 chest, and T3 legs. They’re very good for showing tattoos, especially if you have the cool Eir style. I use those, with T1 gloves, boots, and shoulders. These three pieces alone can make most sets look distinctly norn due to animal fur and the nordic looking patterns on the bulky squared off armor plates. If you’re looking to save a clashing set, and try to give it a strong norn flair that overpowers other clashing styles, those are worth trying out.

@Brienson, That’s one of the neater mixed armor combinations I’ve seen! I definitely would not have thought of that. The boots work really well with the legs. So I think it’s basically set that I’ll use T1 boots and T3 legs now…

I might still stick with the T3 chest piece though like colesy. I’ll have to compare the T2 and T3 chest pieces though with boots and probably some gloves/shoulders Though the gloves and shoulders don’t matter too much since I can hide them.

Sigh. I definitely will need to get lots o’ gold for my T3 fund! The shoulders do look great with the hat… I will have to consider that.
