I love it when my Norn female character says this. It’s so quintessentially Norn. She just says it like it is.

The devs should be bloody proud of their Norn work. And wow, their snowy mountain area, it’s simply mesmerizing. Levelling up through that area was a treat. I really enjoyed looking at the cutscenes from those waypoints, with the accompanying music from that area; it’s everything you hope for when doing PvE, and more. And I’m a PvP’er at heart, so it was a real surprise to see myself enjoy PvE that much.

A big giant kudos to the devs that worked on the Norn and their area. It is, in one word, awesome.

The overwhelmingly self confident declarations of the female Norn amuse me (in a good way) to no end, enough so I put one in my signature a while back. Another one that makes me laugh out loud: when you trigger certain percentages on the daily achievements, it will also trigger certain shouts. So I occasionally have moments where this nine foot Norn, winner of the Great Hunt, Slayer of Issormir, kills a small, helpless bunny with a flaming Great Sword imbued with powerful Guardian magic, and will cry out joyfully for all the world to hear “another proud moment!”

Yes. Another proud moment indeed. Tickles me every time.

My Norn is a male warrior, but I agree wholeheartedly. Nothing like leveling up after a dungeon and hearing him boast “The bards will sing of this!”, or while chopping down trees and getting a daily achievement, having him call out “I’m the master of life!”

I’ve always love passionate, confident, lively characters. Norn embody this incredibly well, and it really got me pumped up and ready to build my legend.

I do have to admit, this is one of the things that have really drawn me to the Norn. Originally, I was iffy on them, but more and more I’m finding I favor them over the other races. One of my favorite phrases is “By the Power of Me! heh heh”.

My wife loves them due to her having an affinity for both the Valkyrie and Norse culture, and the Amazons.

It was a little disappointing, upon leveling on my first alt after playing my Norn main for so long, for her to not declare something self-affirming upon leveling, discovering new land, getting an achievement, or anything else.

I like the different racial sayings and how they’re said. It gives a nice look into the races lore. The self-confidence of norn, the innocences and childlike excitement of sylvari, and the militaristic bluntness of charr.

I actually like the norn female voice. It’s obviously female, but sounds tough and what you would expect from a 9 foot tall “amazon”.

I love the confidence of the Norn. It is part of what drew me to them. They are so confident and optimistic, even in the worst of times. They seem to truly enjoy life and its challenges. I do quite enjoy their racial sayings. I can’t help but grin when my Norn says “I am awesome.” Indeed, Norn are awesome.

I love it when my female Norm Mesmer in a dungeon run says, “I did that!”

… or when she discovers a new area “New land… NEW LAND”

I walk around my house declaring the things my Norn declares. My husband finds it amusing when I am on my hands and knees scrubbing the floors and declaring how great I am. Or how when I am done cooking, I declaire, “Yes, my family I am Awesome!”

The only sentence I don’t like my Norn saying is “Need some healing here” :p. I didn’t appreciate her voice until I grouped with other race warriors and heard their “for great justice”. My Norn’s voice does sound much stronger and convincing.

I can get behind that…

MY main is a Male Norn Necro and it’s absolutely hilarious hearing a Norn Necro screaming on getting an achievement

My Norn makes me happy, and that’s the important part when playing a game.

“Might makes me right.”

I <3 the little sayings and they have yet to get old for me yet.

My favorite so far: “See that? That was all me!” Just had to chuckle at that one.

Now, if we could get an “I am Death incarnate.” in there somewhere…

I absolutely agree. Being a Norn makes doing anything feel awesome. For example when I gain a level my guy says “Greatness! I am becoming greatness!”

I’ve actually started saying “I’m the master of life” at work. People just look at me and shake their heads…

Favorite level-up line

I do appreciate the lines of the Norn. My favorite in the game, which isn’t from my character, is the “Urge to kill rising!” Whenever I hear that I smirk. I so hope they get Claudia Christian back in the sound booth for some new content!

Makes my day every day!

I almost want to make a male norn to hear their declarations. I have two norn women and I adore their self love as well.

Sometimes when my level 50 norn elementalist declares her amazingness while squishing low level characters I giggle to no end.

I forgot how much I liked the “uncovering new areas” quotes until last weekend when I finally found, “Another place to make my legend!”

Female Norn to vendors: “We need to talk. NOW.”

I always found it fun to hear “I am the master of life!” after my male Norn cuts down a living tree. I think he’s trying to reassure himself that claiming he’s the master of life after bringing death to a tree means nothing wrong happened.

I love my Norn.

I dunno. The way my female Sylvari goes, “Woah… What’s happening?” is just so hilarious. XD The Norn’s “how many ales have I had?” is funny too though. Male Charr’s is kind of boring, “I can’t remember my orders!”

I don’t think I’ve ever heard the Asura or Human ones yet.

I also like the random things the NPCs say in the Norn areas.

Norn are my favorite no doubt, the other races are…well…not Norn.

Sorry guys and gals, while I agree with most of the comments, I find her “Need some healing here.” very annoying, and I really detest her whimpering “The pain, the pain.” When I hear the latter, I find myself shouting at the monitor “Shut up and keep fighting.” I also detest her drawn-out whimpering moan when she is knocked off of her feet by an explosion. Where is that Norn toughness?

I love the norn achievement shoutouts for random things. This in particular has me laughing out loud every single time it happens.

My (male) Norn’s constant joy at everything makes me laugh. There is one saying I have not been able to puzzle out, though. When he gets a nice piece of gear (such as a map completion award), he says something like, “It’s better than moon loot!” What does that mean?

I crack up every time my Norn levels and proclaims "By the power of… ME!!!
