So, everyone knows that once you hit lvl 30 your Elite Skills are available. Only thing bad thing about this for me (& probably others) is the norn is just too cool to only get one Elite Skill, especially if you don’t have a lot of skill points at the moment.

Basically, my question is: What Elite Skill is best to start with for the Norn Mesmer?

I was thinking the shape-shifting ones because they seem so kitten, but the one about changing the enemy into a Moa seems like it will come in handy.

Also, about the Moa changing skill, does that also work on bosses? I’d think that if it did then the Norn Mesmer would really be a great combination.

I have a level 80 norn mesmer (his name is Subtle Norn Mesmer xD). I generally use Time Warp in a lot more instances then I do Moa Morph and very rarely use the AoE stealth skill (your utility stealth is strangely better). Time warp allows you and other members to go crazy with DPS. Moa Morph does have its uses like making a dungeon fight versus trash mobs a lot more managable, but it’s generally used a lot more heavily in PvP.

The racial elites are mainly for your personal amusement. Don’t get me wrong though. They are practical to use but generally racials aren’t on par with class skills. Hope this helps.

For a mesmer I would suggest Bear form, since you charge the enemy from afar and knock him down. Then you can change back and do your mesmer tricks on him.

The thing about the racial elites is that while they’re nice and flashy, most of them are significantly weaker than the normal elites you could use. Become the Wolf is situationally useful, but the others are kind of eh.

First elite I think you should get, IMO, is Time Warp. It’s probably the best PvE elite that Mesmers have right now. If you’re leveling up mostly through WvW, then I’d probably get Moa Morph instead. Either way, pick a profession elite before a racial one.
