Title says all. They are meant to be from the north, so why do they not sound any different from the rest of Tyria?

What does a northern sound sound like?

Northerny. Maybe they’re supposed to sound cold?

Or maybe he meant Nordic, and that they’re supposed to sound like Vikings or something.

A little shiver in their voice might be a nice touch.

Take a look at the difference in accents from the north and south of England, or Game of Thrones.

Or the Inuits. Norn should sound like the Inuits.

Case in point, I think the 4 different playable races should have different accents and not all sound so American-ish (with the exception of Sylvari, who sound wonderfully British).

They didn’t make different voice overs, they just changed the captions. Exception for the new Chinese GW2.

Yes they did O_o.
All of the different language versions have different voice actors. German players listen to everything in German and have German voice actors, same for French. I have no idea about Spanish, but I assume it’s the same.

As to Norn sounding “northern”.
Humans have regional differences in accent yes, but why should Norn. They ONLY come from the north, so there is no ‘southern’ equivalent for them to sound ‘northern’ to. They already have distinct voices from humans, so I don’t really understand what you want?

All of the different language versions have different voice actors. German players listen to everything in German and have German voice actors, same for French. I have no idea about Spanish, but I assume it’s the same.

I don’t know if it is a bug or if it is working as intended, but spanish-speaking players can’t heard an spanish voiceover. But I am playing at an american server (I am latin-american), and I don’t know if the european version do have an spanish voiceover.
