How would that work out? I want to RP a Norn that only rarely drinks and joins moots. How would other Norns treat him and such?

Also, would be in line with the lore?

The Norn play it loose with their cultural norms; lore-wise, you can get away with almost anything in the name of building your legend. So how does not drinking fit into your legend, exactly? Regardless, I’d imagine other Norn would find someone who isn’t into drinking or boasting a bit dull, while the other races will probably find him easier to relate to than the average Norn.

Tell, me what is funnier than drinking yourself and your friends mad and start a brawl?

One of the people in my guild RP’s that she was raised by the Kodan, and such does not drink or participate in moots or it would upset her balance. The other norn chars at the table all thought it was strange, but we accepted her just fine.

Norn wouldn’t really find issue. They’d think it odd for sure, but mostly wouldn’t cause trouble over it.

Though IIRC, in the Tutorial or very first camp, there is a Norn bartender/tavern guy who threatens to toss out a Norn because “He’s been sitting in the corner for a while sipping his drink, hasn’t even started a brawl or anything!”

But again, a Norn who doesn’t obsess over beer won’t be exiled :P.

Part of RPing is crafting a backstory for your character Carlos. Everybody has a story. While maybe not RPing ingame, it’s going a little farther than “I have a character and I play it”.

Norn dont need to drink but their culture is all about showing off, boasting your achievements and whatnot, so you would see a lot of those types of things, and it’d just be sort of odd for a norn to not partake in.

Let’s see … I imagine a real life scenario, small village. Everyone knows everyone and the tough “men” gather in the bar after a hard day, getting drunk and telling dirty jokes.

Your character would not be in that bar often … sort of not belong.

You often hear about that guy, that only drinks milk when he comes into the bar. However that guy is usually muscle packed and not to be trifled with and history has shown what happened to some that tried to mock him.

It really depends on your character and not if he drinks or not. People could still think you are “weird” but accept the fact depending on your skills and or personality.

Some will laugh behind your back, some will be jealous, some will respect your choices.
