Snow Leopard elite skill costs 30 points to unlock, yet every other “spirit / transformation elite form” costs 10. Why are snow leopard players being punished for wanting/choosing snow leopard as a spirit guide/mentor?

Yes we can choose other forms as they’re not locked out but there is no reason for snow leopard to cost so much more then the other norn racial elites. It’s not more powerful, it doesn’t have 1/3 the cooldown so why the increased cost.

Norn racial elites don’t need two tiers to buy and if you MUST put an elite skill in there, then make up a new one that will cost 30 points and stop punishing people who only want Snow Leopard form.

Snow Leopard has stealth.

As it was said before, one skill HAD to bite the bullet from the Norn Racial elites. Norn already have more racial elites than other races, so giving them a new skill is a bad idea, it would be unfair for ALL of them to be 10 points, and there’s no need to switch it with another form or put another form up there with it to punish other people.

One can get so many skill points in this game that it really should be no problem to get them all, regardless which one is the expensive one.

Also, isn’t the Snow Leopard the only one that can attack while moving?

Between that and the stealth, it is worth 30 points. Infact, I’d say they’re “punishing” anyone who doesn’t go Snow Leopard. The others are mediocre at best.

Bear form used to be better for WvW due to a massive hp pool, but that got stealth nerfed (not in the patch notes) last night, so…. All hail snow leopard I guess.

Should just let us stick a normal utility slot in our elite slot. I’d be better off with mist form or cleansing fire in WvW than any of the ele/norn elites now. (lol@melee range in WvW as an elementalist without 50k+ hp from bear form)

They are all bad, you should never use your animal form rather than showing off to a newbie. You get killed instantly even with the Bear hp pool… All animals have horrible damage mitigation and horrible damage. It’s all an illusion! Racial skills are just cosmetic and in our case we got screwed cause we got 4 that are elite and basically the same.

Panther has stealth for those that want it. thats about it. As a mesmer I already have a stealth elite so its a wash for me. Funny how people complain about stealth but then most wont take it when they can.

There’s no problem with snow leopard costing 30 point since you pretty much hemorrhage skill points at 80. The issue is that it gives people the idea that it’s much better than the other forms when in reality it’s the same or even worse depending on situation. If they were going to make it cost 30 points they should have made it so that you will always choose it over all other forms unless in very specific situations. Personally I think all forms are useless and i only ever use them to show off or clown around. They may have been useful at some time during leveling but they’re pointless to use at 80.

Agreed all the norn elites are terrible. Snow Leopard is the only source of stealth, even if it’s next to worthless. It’s mainly something I use to impress new players in low level zones for a quick laugh. All the forms are basically worthless, other than one or two odd situations, or as a means of escaping a swarm of npcs ever so often.

Norn technically have the most racials; it’s a shame they’re all the same thing – terrible.

It’s unfair to snow leopard people to pay 30 pts. No racial elite needs to be in the second tier. We already have second tier elites in our professions.

That’s not the point. The point is that they’re (snow leopard worshipers) being charged 3x as much for no more benefit then any other norn transformation elite. It should be changed.

Yes, some do. Is it because they are better? Nope. It’s just how the developers chose to put it. I’m sure there’s some weird balance to it. Or maybe it’s for the sake of working for it? I’m not sure. And besides, it’s already been said, why get so worked up? The only thing these racials do right is make you look awesome for 30 seconds. Die in style!

Back to topic, I hope they fix this soon. Even thou I know Norn transformation are not on par with profession elite skills, they should at least be on par with an empty elite skill slot which they are not.

between the stealth and the charge its the ultimate get away, you can start on one side of a zerg in wvw and get so far on the other side that you’re out of range of their attacks, and then stealth before another colossal dash!
its always on my bar in wvw,
as a necro i could stick golem there for sustained dps 1v1, or lich form for high burst, but its such an amazing escape button that i always keep it

I think all the transformation is only good with ranger Norn, bc we have a pet then we transform to a beast, pet gone then appear again when we transform back, that gives us range attack and melee also. Just my thought.

Snowleopard is useful for a lot more than just escaping. It’s more like a real skill than the other racials.

I don’t really understand why Snow Leopard is the only form that can move while attacking. I mean, do they fear it would make them all op if we were able to land a hit on enemy players? Or did they just not bother to fix it? The lack of any form of healing in majority of forms is bad enough. Removing the need to stand still while attacking would at least move the forms from “why did you even create this elite” to “lacking and underpowered yet fun” cathegory.

I think healing plus the ability to attack in all forms would make the racials on par with and even better than some of the other “real” skills. They are supposed to be weaker than regular skills. Snow leopard is the only one that pushes that boundary because it is so useful. Take wolf form. If it could attack while moving and heal like it does, it becomes a very useful skill. Not just “lacking and underpowered yet fun”.
