When I first bought this game I was hoping to play a norn with a big braided viking beard, but it seemed to be lacking. The only other beard that covers my face made me feel like I was Al from that old show Home Improvement.

Why no awesome beards down to my belly? Too many clipping issues?

The idea that viking had giant manly beards is a misconception, much like the horned helmets (horns were proven to be drinking cups). Scandinavians in that era more often than not had beards, but they were wispier.

Beyond that, I imagine it’s to minimize clipping issues with chest armor. Would be near impossible to make work right for comparatively little gain, since most everyone would likely pick shorter beards anyway.

Are you seriously complaining about lack of beard options for norn?

Have you seen human choices?

Would have like a nice Cmmdr Riker beard option myself. Is what I wear irl. Little chin wagging braid is what I settled on. But really, long beards are just something for whoever you are fighting to grab and drag your head around with while they gut you.

My epic beard is removed by my helmet. . . . v_v
and my character doesn’t look that great w/o a beard either t.t

Yeah…. helmets and hats remove your hairstyle. I actually preferred some clipping to seeing no hair. :/

Although ArenaNet will not acknowledge the truth, we all know that Norns derive power from the might of their beards. Thus, to bring them in line with other races, they had to restrict the awesome beard options.

A couple of the beards are fine, but yeah, there aren’t any really good “long” ones.

Also, most of the kitten things don’t have a mustache with them, and that just ain’t right, no matter what style you’re going after, unless you’re going for Amish or something.
