Too literally. Okay. So they can put any nonsense they want in the release notes and no one should take the notes literally at all, and just ignore them. Righty-O.

There’s quite the distinction between “Not taking things too literally” and “Completely ignoring them.”

Either it is or it isn’t. There’s no point in releasing patch notes when it contains contradicting notes separated only by a bullet point entry.

edit Apologies for the double post.

If it can’t be reasonably acquired by everyone then it is unreliable. You must not know what a definition is if for you actual meanings of words are so fluid. Content is stuff in the game, which includes skins. Seeing as how its been asserted that the endgame is stuff like Legendaries, then absolutely cosmetic upgrades class as content.

So just because you don’t agree with a definition doesn’t mean you’re right. Words have specific meanings, if you can’t agree on that then you’re not actually participating an an adult conversation and are speaking gibberish.

I wasn’t aware there was some kind of widely accepted definition of the word “content” in the context of video games. There isn’t. There’s very a myriad of very subjective definitions for terms like “grind” “expansion” “P2W”, and yes, “content” in the context of a videogame.

No, I don’t claim to be right. There is no right or wrong. It’s just that simply, my personal opinion of “content” doesn’t include cosmetics.

Either it is or it isn’t. There’s no point in releasing patch notes when it contains contradicting notes separated only by a bullet point entry.

You can very easily read something, and comprehend it not literally.

That’s not how patch notes work.

Content is the stuff in the game. How do you not understand this? Go look up the definition of the word “content” and not in its verb form if you need clarification. The people who believe in subjective definitions are usually the ones angling for elitist issues, such as restricting said content to keep their uniqueness in game. Which is sad and pathetic, but there it is. There is the definition of a word, and the people’s subjective application of it. Where you are confused is believing your subjective viewpoint is a definition. It isn’t.

There is a right and wrong. To sit there and claim your personal opinion doesn’t classify cosmetics as content invalidates your opinion, unless you’re going to claim that grinding AC for tokens to buy a Greatsword you like the look of, or the monumental acquisition time of a Legendary doesn’t count as content, in which case you’re obviously misinformed.

Either it is or it isn’t. There’s no point in releasing patch notes when it contains contradicting notes separated only by a bullet point entry.

Then the patch notes are misleading. I’m still having trouble how these basic ideas of communication are somehow lost on people. Its almost like they’re being intentionally dull just so that ANet doesn’t allow other players the same access. Which is just sad.

Bottom line is, this is a game which should be played for fun. How you experience that fun is up to you, but time gating content and making it limited is poor design, if you believe otherwise you’re either fooling yourself or inclined to exclusionary elitism. Either is bad, but I guess being a fool is preferable to intentionally being a jerk.

Lets ignore Tribulation mode as an exercise in frustration, and say the average player can complete Worlds 1 and 2 once per day without a loss of too many lives or bubbles for bombs and the like (also a big stretch).

That means, account wide, you’re getting 12 Bubble Baubles from the chests per day.

This thread has gone two pages without anyone pointing out the most flawed part of this?

The bonus level after World 1 gives you a bonus Bauble Bubble when you’re done with the mine cart. Presumably there’s a similar bonus after World 2 at the end, though I haven’t made it that far yet. The World 3 preview might have a single Bauble Bubble at the end as well (the World 2 preview in April did after the raft ride).

That’s between 13-15 Bauble Bubbles a day, not 12. An extra 30-90 over the whole month.

If you’re going to feign outrage about this, at least try to get the numbers right. If you haven’t even gone and beaten King Toad yet to see that you get a seventh Bauble Bubble after the mine cart, then you can’t seriously care about the skins that much.

Considering the overall difficulty of World 2, the amount of posting going on about the difficulty for the general public, pretty sure that even 12 bubble baubles a day is being generous.

So yes, if you drop six hours a day on one frustrating game mode, you MIGHT be able to acquire one of each skin, maybe. As opposed to SAB 1 where you could, if you were so inclined, farm to your heart’s content to equip as many alts as you like.

And despite your melodramatic claims, I’m not “feigning outrage” I’m simply asking about the logic of adding more skins than the original release, keeping the price the same, halving rewards in the world AND time gating and account binding the digging. Does that sound like a recipe for fun to you? It sounds punishing to me.

And honestly, in my fight against the Storm Wizard and the number of lives I was losing to his unblockable mistform charge, yeah I did forget about the sole extra bauble after a two hour slog. Look at it this way, if you do a perfect run each day, then you get 60 baubles in four days. Four days. How long did it used to take someone to acquire a full set of dungeon gear, before the once a day per path patch? CoF path 1, you could have full dungeon gear in less than a couple hours if you were with a group that didn’t mind hardcore speed farming.

So you get one skin in four days or an entire set of gear in two hours. Yeah, the reward structure is just fine.

The skins are dropping pretty regularly from chests in SAB.

That’s a new one. I never got a single skin drop in the first SAB run and I did open many chests :/

The glorious chests at the end of each boss fight has a chance of dropping a skin. 3 of the 5 people in my party (including me!) got a skin from the first zone

If it’s same as before, it’s ~2% chance.

Well congratulations on being incredibly lucky.

Not everyone is going to be that lucky.

Totally agree. I really liked farming for my alts. They had their super adventure in the box and got a nice skin. Imagine if Anet did the same with dungeons. No gold or loot just tokens. People would go crazy.
