With the recent update, I logged back into Super Adventure Box after a few days of break. I had hit a wall previously and wanted to see if I could get past it with the changes.
Good news! I beat World 2 Zone 1!
So, I was playing Zone 2, and thinking to myself, “this is easier than zone 1 by a lot.”
Until I hit the dart traps part.
It is so infuriating.
You can’t slow down, because you have 5 ninjas on your butt, and yet you’re supposed to notice these traps that are the same exact color as the wall they are attached to? On the fly, while running and dodging all the ninjas, you’re supposed to notice each and every of them? Unlikely.
I got past the dojo where you get the glove. What came next made me rage quit just like the rapids did in W2Z1 pre-nerf.
An entire dojo of dart traps where you have to push blocks around without getting hit by any of them. It’s impossible to not lose a handful of lives the first time you go through it. It’s just impossible to not do that because the dart traps are spread out all over the place. I thought the ninjas chasing you everywhere and knocking you off things to your death was irritating, but taking baby steps to arrange blocks only to get hit by a dart trap from across the room….it’s too much.
There is nothing in World 1, combined all together, that comes anywhere close to the difficulty of this puzzle. Nothing. Nothing in the game comes close to being this difficult, minus tribulation mode.
I really thought it was going to be as fun as World 1. That’s the thing. I had a ton of fun with World 1. World 2 has just been aggravation, irritation, anger, stress, and no fun at all, sadly.
I waited impatiently for the changes to, what I thought was the entire World 2, so I could have fun playing through it. Sadly, the changes to Zone 1 only build up your confidence to be skewered by Zone 2.
I don’t know how much more of this I can take. I’m wasting bauble bubbles on coins to keep trying, but if it isn’t fun, it isn’t fun.
that’s why there’s an easy mode, how can people not complete it normal mode. sure, it’s a bit tough in some parts though that’s where the fun is, that’s where a bit of strategy comes into play, that’s where planning how to proceed through the level comes in. as bad as a player that i am, i was able to finish word 1 and 2 with a few deaths here and there alone. quit complaining over something so simple. if you’re having that bad of a time then don’t do the event, i’ll even help you go through it if you really want to though just can’t.
the dev team made it even easier on the places that’s suppose to be extra fun and a little hard.
my only single complaint about this is that the continue coins can’t be tradeable, i would have loved to give a couple of them to the people that tend to run out of them.

I reccomend doing it with a team, trust me it was really hard for me but loads of fun (even tho some people only find fun if its super insanely easy) plus you have 5 people all trying to reach the top somebody is bound to reach the checkpoint.

First of all: No, it’s definitly not “impossible”.
Slow yourself down and just look at the things one or two minutes and you can see, where the traps are and how to awoid them in all of the rooms in w2z2.
And if you really can’t do it at all: Just use easy mode, that’s the reason, why it’s there. In that mode you can do all things the same way as in normal mode, but you can skip too hard areas.

1. This is clearly not a game mode that lends itself well to running through as fast as possible. If you’re trying to run through as fast as possible while 5 deadly enemies chase you, yet die to a well-hidden-but-visible trap, that’s on you. Take your time.
2. Once you die to that trap you learn it’s there and you learn what the traps look like and where they usually are. You also get your life reimbursed due to the recent patch.

Do not rage. Just do it slowly. Kill the ninjas one after another before there are 5 at a time. Look out for arrow traps. You can see ALL of them before they hit you.
Think before you do something. Do not play it like modern games where you just run into everything and faceroll the kitten out of puzzles and enemies.
Edit: faceroll the kitten, ha lol nice auto editing of swar words^^
Accept that dieing is not losing but learning. Try not to die because of the same thing twice.
The house with the traps with the big coin at the top is the hardest part in the SAB (in GW2?) so it is not bad if it takes long.
Be happy if you win. Do not give up so easily, the content is not gone tomorrow.
Edit: “faceroll the kitten” lol that auto correcting of swear words ^^

seriously only change I’d make is to put a body pinned to the other side of the door by arrows at the first dart trap. That should clue in people that it’s maybe dangerous to go through.

If you hated the dart trap puzzle you’re going to REALLY hate the dart trap ninja bs pagoda where you have to reach the gong…
But I agree with the general idea OP, World 2 isn’t fun like Word 1 was, just frustrating and annoying. Even after beating all zones I don’t EVER want to do that crap again.

I love 2-2 and 2-3, 2-1 had some issues but 2-2 and 2-3 are fun.
