I just went into SAB to get an achievement done and I fell off a cloud into the nothingness below, and before I died I had 22 lives (I used 5 continue coins on my last death). I get back to the checkpoint and it’s taken two lives off me, I’m left with 20.
Now not being good at jumping puzzles left aside for a moment (inb4 people say get an infinite continue coin), in principle, this shouldn’t happen. It’s a basic math thing the client should be able to handle, and I’m wondering if anyone else has been robbed of lives in SAB.
The math is fine. You’re dying twice. Happens in many places (not just the spike traps in 2-2).
But hang on, if I fall off a cloud, I’m only supposed to lose one life, not two, correct?
You’re only supposed to die once. For the most part, I’d attribute it to lagging. Sometimes it looks like there’s surfaces you land on after dying to a fall, but I can’t say for certain that this contributes to killing you twice.
