How to do this jump?!?
You need to get a bit of a tiny running start and jump afterwards. In Dulfy’s video guide, I noticed she ran a little before making the jump.
The physics of jumping are kind of strange but you figure out some quirks.
For that jump I go past it and turn into it, helps you get a couple of seemingly possible jumps but they are barely out of reach.
Other things are running off the edge slightly before jumping to gain distance
Dodge roll and jump at the same time (jump split seconds earlier as to not roll off the edge) takes some timing and it isn’t 100% with me, but you get even more distance.
Running for a second increases momentum, a stand still jump versus a step or two then jump are different, so as mentioned earlier you need some speed to it.

Dulfy didn’t actually make the jump, she got stomped, ended up under the rock, jumped real fast after getting up and got tossed up there during the jump. For that jump and all other jumps with that rock monster, if there isn’t a slightly higher than floor level to jump onto it from, you need to dodge jump to get the distance to get to its safe spot on top of it. That jump nearly requires luck, the fortunes of the gods, Moto’s forgiveness, and Asuran quickness to make it.
The truly silly bit is that jump isn’t even NECESSARY – after making the initial jump over the chasm you can cut right and then follow the line of trees straight over to the hill, and from there work your way up to the last checkpoint. There are of course traps if you deviate, but you don’t need to jump at all or deal with those annoying rocks, you can just walk straight to where you want to go.
Of course I only found out about that AFTER making that jump successfully, ha ha.

Didn’t realize you can run along the ground… will have to try that next time.
What I tend to do is dodge roll towards the rock and you get an evade message, now you are right next to it and it is on cooldown before it jumps again.
I take that time to jump on top of it and off to the ledge without being knocked around.
I’m assuming this is World 1 Zone 1 in the last area. Don’t go that way.
Walk right to the tree line, then walk along the right side of the trees. Jump to the little hedge by the cliff/mountain. Don’t go up or you’ll die. Then jump to the bit of rock right at the corner. You’re right on the edge of a spike trap here. Jump around the corner to safe area.
It’s much more straight forward and safer.

Heh, wait till you get to a couple of jumps in Zone 2. If you can do the double jump like her, it might be easier, but I can’t so I had to do it the “normal” way. You have to fake the rocks out (my thanks to the person who pointed it out to me). You do need some quick reflexes.
