(Note: This is not a rant post. There are positives, negatives and suggestions. It’s mostly just me sharing my thoughts and experiences.)

I love jumping puzzles and I love Super Adventure Box. I love tedious, time consuming, painfully frustrating things just as much. So I decided to go for 100% completion of achievements related to SaB. So far I have all of the regular ones for both titles and all the World 1 tribulation achievements.

However, I’m sure you’ve all heard it before. The rage that comes along with certain aspects of SaB. I just got to the end of Tribulation mode W2Z2 and was DC’d. Again. It really makes me want to give up on trying for the achievements, because.. I know I can do it but any little tiny hiccup in my internet connection can come crashing down and take away hours of concentration and work. This hasn’t been the first time. You have no idea how relieved I was to have finally finish World 1 on tribulation mode. Not because it was hard. It’s not hard at all once you figure out where to jump.. but because of my disconnects. I didn’t feel rewarded. I didn’t feel accomplished. Because after a few days of fighting with DCs it wasn’t YES FINALLY /I/ DID IT. It was YES, FINALLY.. MY INTERNET DIDN’T kitten UP. Thank goodness. Now I can move on.

Now there’s nothing Anet can do about me disconnecting. And if they decide to not put in some sort of timed re-enter at checkpoint when you disconnect and reconnect, such is life. I’ll deal.

One thing I’d like to suggest though, especially for tribulation mode, is to get rid of edge walking. Edge walking, in my humble opinion, is really dumb. I think that we should have to think of creative ways to get around a particular problem/trap instead of.. walking along the edge of the platform, floating on air. Having multiple routes with different challenges for the future worlds would be amazing. Instead of having one extremely linear way to get through tribulation mode. I really enjoyed tribulation mode W2Z1. It was really fun. I didn’t feel like if I took a step a couple pixels to the left to turn my camera a certain way I was going to be impaled by a bunch of spikes, but it was still challenging.

I’m not saying remove the traps altogether. The cheap kills sometimes make me laugh. Just maybe.. think more about kiting us through a maze of sorts. Make us think instead of making us walk on air. I really think that’s the only major thing that bothers me.

Of course there are bugs and glitches that make me rage for all of five seconds, but that’s with anything. Not a big deal. And it’s been improving slowly, from what I can tell. The team that works on SaB has done a great job so far!
I mean geeze.. they basically created a game within a game! And an enjoyable one, at that (IMO). It’s nice to be able to take a break from the dangerous world outside SaB what with all those nasty dragons flying around and just chill in a bright, lighthearted and fun environment.

Just my two cents.
