Thought id share a concern I have with the community -

and that is – ascended armors and how they are going to be obtained.

My concern is from Ascended weapons – if you “dont like crafting” – which, I don’t – hate it with a passion, your going to need to get EXTREMELY lucky to get one drop – and then it’s likely it won’t be what you want anyway.

I am actually going to be crafting the weapon, even though I hate it so, and, 400-500 costs a bomb to begin with, that’s not counting the world bosses, dungeons, puzzles, your going to need to do – for which, I don’t have alot of time to do!

I feel that ascended armors are going to be more of an issue than weapons, and create this dreaded “gear treadmill” – I won’t have time to grind for them, and, as a player since day 1, with “everything but a legendary” – it seems to be doing what the devs said they would not. Yes, okay, I wont NEED the armor, personally. But other people will. The so called “Elite” – its just giving them another thing to add on to their required lists. and for what?

So, I beg of you Anet – consider something like dungeon tokens for ascended armors. Dungeons will be run more, it’ll be fun, and I can do 1 a day, and it won’t feel like grind.

Seems a good idea to me… – Even if the cost is alot of tokens!

They’ve had different ways of obtaining each ascended item so far.

Backpacks from Mystic Forge.
Rings are from Fractals of the Mists.
Accessories from Guild Commendations.
Amulets from Laurels.
Weapons from Crafting.

Armor, being SIX pieces, will likely have a variety of ways. Likely, we’ll get one or two pieces at a time through some method. Perhaps dungeon runs or world bosses?

There are many other games you could play instead. Crafting isn’t optional anymore.
And optional means GW2; like it or leave it.

Yeh, I hope there’s some variety.

Crafting should ALWAYS be optional.

Grind should also be optional.

Other games dont force you to craft.

You don’t have to have ascended. You’re no different now than you were before the update. The game difficulty has not changed.

They do drop I have got 1 drop already and when they drop you can pick the type so just do the scarlet event when it pop up and farm those champs ;P

I do :P Problem is, those are 1 a day or so now? and random, so difficult to catch?

and yes, seems people are indeed buying up armorsmithing etc items – so I really really hope that ascended armors are available by other means.

Well, I saw 3 events in the last half day pop up… not too rare, I think
