As the title says? is it me or is it starting to strain on other peoples eyes.

You can tell how bright it is compared to the other materials which are extremely dark. Constantly repeating this area can’t be good for my eyes.

Yeah, it was hurting my eyes really badly when I was looking at it. I really do hope they change it. I don’t have problems with the graphics on much of anything in this game, but this lava is terrible to look at.

Worse yet, I can often not see depth in various objects, due to the lighting.

Look at this tree trunk for example. I can not tell the side from the top. They blend into each other perfectly. And the bright lava next to it, does not aid visibility.

I almost went into an epileptic seizure while staring too long at it.

This thread is days old now and no response; still, it really was hurting my eyes badly when I played this level, so I do hope Arenanet does something about it for the next time SAB comes around.

Ah, so it’s not just me. It wouldn’t be so bad if at least it didn’t have any animation and it stood still, but… pff , gives me headaches and makes me miss the jumps. It’s way too bright, and playing with gama doesn’t really help either cause of that contrast.

I would personally like it if they improved some of the lighting, or changed the textures a bit. A lot of geometry around the lava has very little lighting at all, making it difficult to see depth. Just a few extra light sources could make a world of difference.

Did you try using the candle or torch to illuminate the other nearby objects? I’m not sure if that will work, but it might help. Yeah, the lava is very bright.

it didn’t exactly hurt or cause discomfort, but i remember being pretty annoyed by the extreme contrast. and anyway, even if you don’t sense any discomfort, it’s still just not good for your eyes. i hope people aren’t playing that part in a dark room. make sure you have other light sources turned on in your room to reduce eye strain.

No pain or discomfort here either, but I have had moments of that feeling that you’re moving when you’re standing still all while trying to make jumps. Like I said, not painful or anything, just one of those whoa kitten moments.

Finally I recalled the stopgap solution of a great princess who was told that the
peasants had no bread and who responded: “Let them eat brioche.”
