Party dissolved in SAB, you get kicked, why?!

What happened:
- I play w2z3 on tribulation. I get some 2/3 through.
- a guildie random invites me to party, I auto accept without kicking.
- turns out the guildie thought I was doing something else.
- party is dissolved.
- I get kicked out of SAB, losing hours of progress.
Now, granted, it was my fault for accepting invite. But seriously, I created the instance, why on earth do I get kicked out if anyone leaves / is kicked? Thanks for this “feature”, now please fix it, tribulation mode is hard enough without your bugs, “features”, and inability to compensate for temporary router / server troubles so the whole run you’re on needles on whether or not the gods of rng will let you finish this content or will you get disconnected / kitten ed in some other way.

omfg this is exactly what happened to me the other day while in W2Z2. First time ever in a game where I started insulting a guildie.

yea. very first time i did TM, given it was w1z1, but still first time. and i was in a party that i never left previously (only 2 people left). so i get all the way to the end, almost RIGHT before the boss, i leave party cause others want to join up on me as we were gonan do some dungeons later, aaaaaaaand i get booted from the instance. pertty frustrating lol.
like OP, it was my fault and i should have been more attentive, what with instance owners leaving party dissolves party. which is what i was, since i entered SAB (which is treated as an instance/dungeon). o well.

Well, the second time around it took me about half an hour to get 2/3 through w2z3 and make up for lost time, and that time I finished it. What I just don’t understand why you get booted if you’re the instance owner and other people leave / are removed from party. Especially those who never entered the instance in the first place.
Having finished tribulation mode, I can say it was fine, even fun, and overall a good thing to add, there was just one really bad thing about the whole experience; knowing that it only takes one short router / server issue and you’ll have to redo it all. Since SAB is soloable, and imo best done that way, ANet should really look into a way of preserving those instances or letting us get back to any checkpoint we visited in the last 30 mins, or something.

Due to technical issues. There can be no save points for the last time you entered SAB.
The only solution is to make levels shorter.
Also I wish SAB wasn’t best solo’d. It’s a lot more fun with a party. But every one is anti-social now days or doesn’t want to do SAB any more. Needs to be incentives for group play.

Yep, I was almost at the end of W2Z2 TM. Just me and the boyfriend in the party, and he leaves, I get kicked from the instance. I was not a happy bunny haha, it’s certainly something that could do with having a little look at!

See, this post is a legitimate complaint worth investigating. It really makes no sense why you would get booted if you created the instance and someone else leaves. Happened to me too and I was confused as hell, ruined it for everyone in the group unfortunately because I DCd for a long bit and then dropped group after logging back in. I was left asking “wait, was I party leader? I don’t think I created the group, did I? Why did we all just get booted?” It really made me question my sanity. I mean I may have smoked my fair share of greens in college, but I think I would remember if I created a group or not 30min into a run lol. At least I’d like to think I would…
Wait, where am I…

I very much agree with this. The risk of disconnects is why levels shouldn’t be too long. Increased length and difficulty also encourages people to solo SAB instead of doing it in groups, which is a real shame because some of my best experiences in SAB came from doing it back in April with groups, showing newbies how to get through tough jumps, or just opening up shortcuts/checkpoints if they got absolutely stuck and pulling them through that way.

I happen to like those longer levels. They should just find ways of preventing progress loss due to short dc’s, none of that “technical reasons” that doesn’t mean anything stuff
As for multi or not, SAB can be done with a party or solo, those preferring parties can organize and do it. Forcing people who prefer it solo to run it in groups isn’t the answer, SAB is fine the way it is in that respect imo. And I have nothing against group content and run dungeons every day.. it’s just that SAB is a different thing alltogether, and I like it that way.

PLEASE dont project your beliefs onto such a large array of individuals EVERYONE. please learn to rephrase without spreading the bad vibes. the social supports depend on each of us doing a little. dont make people give up.

I certainly wouldn’t want SAB to become “unsoloable” either. What I meant was there should be a slight incentive to play SAB in groups, since what’s happened in World 2 is that everybody just does it solo for the achievements and Trib Mode. (Which is fair enough. Not all players want to sit around waiting for other players to hunt for every last bauble or find every secret room.)
One possible solution might be to make it so boss health doesn’t scale according to the number of people in the party, making it much easier to kill King Toad or the Storm Wizard in a group rather than solo. Likewise, it isn’t necessary to have one key per party member, or to have everybody hit the gong. One person is perfectly capable of pulling everybody else through the map if they’re good enough, and the other players can either attempt to complete it on their own merits, or just follow the good player’s lead.
(Of course, this is not applicable in Trib Mode. No riding of coat tails there. :P)

I was almost done with the Master of baubles for W2Z3 when my friend had to go and it kicked me. :< I was at the Yeti boss.

I HATE that bug!!! I seriously hope ArenaNet fixes the bug before the next release of SAB!

I feel your pain…I tried getting that achievement too. It took me about 4 hours, I think, to get through 2-3 and I still didn’t get it (I must have missed a bauble somewhere). Luckily, you don’t need all the achievements for the title.
