Hello,

Josh, I can’t believe you did something like this. I really can’t.

For “Master of Baubles World 2” I need to open the last chest with a key which can only be purchased one time as you can’t get back to the shop once you reach some certain point.

From Dulfy’s guide:

“58. Purple Bauble
You will now need to backtrack all the way back to the area before checkpoint 3 and grab the last key you dropped off ages ago. When you backtrack through the area with the sloped hill, you will need to jump on the ledge on your right and go from there to get back to the spiked corridor. Take care to not fall off and die somewhere hard to reach as you cannot get another key if you lose it.”

Seriously … making the playerbase waste 2-3 hours just so they learn it is impossible for them to get the achievement. Because, let’s be honest here… NOBODY would take a key to this point without the guide.

Well, I love the SAB, even the new one. But this destroys it for me as I wasted many many many hours for this, thus I don’t think I will go for the Achievements, although I really want those points.

Or am I and the others in my guild missing the point and there is a way to get a key for the last chest elswehere?

Well, when you’re in normal mode, mobs drop keys sometimes.
In infantile, you have to take two keys from “mountain one” to “mountain two” before entering the first checkpoint on the second mountain.

Oh right, there is the big difference. I don’t understand why it is possible to do the achievement in the baby mode, then. It’s more or less my bad, then, but nonetheless, that is what I consider a big design flaw.

There shouldn’t exist “points of no return” at points where the player already invested about 1-3 hours.

I have no idea if it is working (would need to be tested), but could you backtrack over the clouds from the shop next to the room where motos finger is? Because then it would be possible to get another key. Or was the shopkeeper there not selling one?

The shop keep does sell a key there, however I don’t think its possible to jump back. The clouds that lead to the 3 cloud set right before the door are too high to jump back on, I think. I haven’t confirmed but I would imagine that’s the case.

I completed the achievement in normal mode. Just don’t lose your key. If you think you might, you could always ferry extra keys over to the second mountain before hitting the checkpoint there.

Those armadillos would be a lot cooler if they looked more like real armadillos. mmm armadillos

I think it’s easier to do that achievement on normal. The amount of time saved by using the rainbow to scale the inner portion of the 1st mountain is lost by having to backtrack for keys.

I believe that the keys drop from the same enemies as they have for all of my attempts. The first key is dropped from the banana by the hidden shop and yellow bauble (not the one you see from checkpoint 1). The second key is dropped by the bear at the top of the first mountain who happens be standing on top of the area where the second chest is. The third key is dropped from the banana in the area where you have to knock down the large icicle before the spike room. The fourth key is dropped from a banana near the very end when you’re on your way to get the last yellow bauble. It’s the one right above the chest.

After 3 hours a friend and I had to give up at the end because of this BS.
Though Dulfy is partly to blame. First they tell you to trigger the infantile clouds and then the chest is right there before the checkpoint. We wouldn’t have lost our keys if they don’t mention that stupid chest at the end of the list.

SO MUCH FUN I’M HAVING RIGHT NOW.

I followed the guide at dulfy and had no problems. It clearly states you need to activate 3 infantile clouds to the spiked area’s so you can backtrack later. Later on it is said to backtrack to the 4th checkpoint to get the key, from there it is pretty easy to get the key to the chest. I am pretty sure you read something wrong then.

So IMHO dulfy is not to blame, you and your friend choose to follow her guide.

Also I took 2h10 to get that achievement. It is not that hard. (only 1 jump requires dodge jump for which I had to use another keyboard..)

“Follow the clouds until you reach the checkpoint at the ice bridge. Don’t activate it yet, to the right of the bridge is a small ledge with the chest.”

There, done. Instead of having us jump around on a bottomless pit area for half an hour before graciously mentioning the chest.

Dulfy has a tendency to kitten people over… nothing new here.
Take current teq event… I’m from blackgate… our server can/did teq. Sadly because of the brilliant advise our server is now forced to guest on a different server just so we can do the kitten boss. So yeah… less mindlessly following dulfy will probably save you a lot of time later on.

Unfortunately 95% of the player base is unable to do content without a guide. Telling them to not rely so much on guides won’t work. They need these guides or they’ll be unable to play the game.

Guides need to be written better with the assumption that people don’t know what they’re doing and that people will be following them step by step exactly as it is written.

95% of the playerbase uses the guide, but not all of those 95% are kittens who have to use a guide and follow it without using their brain.
For example, I used the guides for bauble achievements. For a single reason : the game is designed so that you want to use the guide (or spend 3 days in SAB for each bauble achievement which, if you assume that we are NOT using a guide, should award 100 points instead of 5^^). Run all around, jump everywhere, throw bombs, play flute, find a lot of baubles … kill boss and discover that there is at least 1 bauble you didn’t find. Too late.
Which is kinda disappointing : I had a lot of fun in W1Z1 normal mode in April, happily jumping everywhere looking for baubles.
If only this achievement was awarded on getting the last bauble instead of killing the boss, I would try this without a guide : happily jump around until I get the achievement.

I spent maybe 4 hours per zone doing the bauble achievements. I made a checklist of each one as I went. A guide is hardly a requirement.
