Realm of Torment, SAB style

Imagine a whole SAB zone. That plays like any other open world zone in the game. With DE’s and many solo/group puzzles everywhere on the map.

Zone is Realm of Torment in low bit SAB style.
*open zone 50 player cap. Think what LOZ Online would be like.
*Theme is darker, gothic, scary, and not cute happy place to be.
*Inspirations for zone: Realm of Torment, Legend of Zelda, Hexen, Doom, Kings Field 2, Duke Nukem, Alice
*16 bit 24 bit look
*No zerg like combat or advertized DE’s.
*but you do get credit for helping people.
*SAB like puzzle JP
*hidden areas accessed through solo play.
*Some hidden areas need help to unlock.
*more adult story and theme.

This idea for a Realm of Torment SAB zone. Would complement any future non-SAB for the Realm of Torment.

Why do this? When the four zones are finished. Players will still want new Moto SAB content.

Think of this idea as The Legend of Zelda online. Where you explore the map with 25 to 75 player cap.

*skills like that in the SAB.
*Map would include single or group play dungeons.
*DE’s scale to players
*player levels are their like hearts in Zelda.

  • DE’s scale to the average number of player hearts.

Doesn’t anyone want to see a SAB zone, that is dark? Without all cute stuff in it.

No monkeys in this idea. Only low bit monsters from the Realm of Torment.

Haha, I know the feeling. Even today whenever I hear one of the Holo Monkey minipets I jump in my seat and start looking around for it so I can kill it. XD

I’m not even too sure what you’re asking here. If you want a darker themed SAB-like stage, just wait until we raid Lord Vanquish’s castle, that’ll probably be menacing enough. Also “more adult story and theme” is subjective. All that’s left is making it open for more players simultaneously (oh god that sounds horrible) and filling it to the brim with Dynamic Events.

Just go to Orr.

I’d definitely be excited to hear about more SAB content after the first 4 installments and the (probable) rescue of Princess Miya; but it should remain platforming focused (and not crammed with dynamic events) as well as be an instance so those who want to be alone can be alone.

First it would be great!

This not a stage. It’s a zone with a smaller number of players.

Classic platform RPG’s have never been online. Only because the technology was not there.
If LOZ was online with 50 players on the whole map. It would not be over populated.

This still sounds like Orr. Plus, there is absolutely no way for an 8-Bit SAB-themed zone to exist outside of the SAB.
Also Cube World is coming.

I’d like it, I really hope SAB doesn’t die out when we have all 4 worlds.

I didn’t say it would be outside the box. It’s a online game inside the SAB.
