Anet stated that the next patch would remove all MF from armors, weps, and trinkets but the MF from food and utility infusions will stay.

My question is: What will happen to runes of the traveler and other similar runes with MF?

Thanks in advance, to anyone that could shed some light on this.

What we need is more damage for world exploration!
+25 Vitality
+3% Critical Damage
+50 Vitality
+5% Critical Damage
+90 Vitality
+10% damage when world exploration is above 90%.

I agree with Delvoire, it is odd that they are keeping the MF infusions but I can’t complain as both my 80’s have that infusion in their neck slot.

I like the idea Evans, guess we’ll wait to find out..

Just looked through the MF thread to get more clarification on the Utility thing.

From the way it looks, the MF will be taken out of that Utility Fusion. It will switch to a different stat though. I believe I read that right as I dug through that thread.

They also said that the Runes and Sigils for MF will have a new/different stat combo. So that answers the OP question.

They’re probably allowing MF infusions to stay because the stats granted by infusions are very minor anyway aside from AR. You get like +4 to a stat, or something, which is negligible.

That, and because there are also Karma / Gold utility infusions, so they’d have to remove all of them if they wanted to make sure you weren’t running a “selfish” infusion, and then there’d be no more utility infusions left so all of the ascended gear with utility slots would become pointless.

There’s basically no stats on infusion slots anyway, so it makes sense to allow MF there. Even if you wanted to be ‘selfish’ in fractals by not equipping AR and end up dying a lot, the other players can tell you don’t have it and can kick you out.

Did anyone notice the comment about getting consumables that raise your Account MF permanently? He implied it was based on MF you currently owned that gets changed by the update. Anyone see a possible run on MF equipment between now and Tuesday?

Is it possible that having your stash full of Explorers equipment may translate into a massive permanent boost to your account wide MF? Surely that aren’t that stupid.

He probably means only Celestial Gear, and only Trinkets and Armour.

How many pieces of Explorers and Travelers do you have stashed? Haha. I did go out and fully gear out one of my toons with MF gear though. I was halfway there when the announcement came out. I wanted to wait to see what the word was on the existing MF stat. Once I got that, I said F it and finished gearing my character out.

He already said mf equipment will be changed to a different craft-able stat of your choice, not an account mf boost.

I get that part. but if you currently have a set that gives you 30% MF (don’t know the numbers, not familiar with the set….I’ve always ignored it), that means you will LOOSE 30% MF when the update happens (yes you will gain some stats elsewhere). I think they understand they need to do SOMTHING to replace that 30% MF you just lost. Thus the consumable (gives a permanent increase to account wide MF) he mentioned late in the blog post.

The only logical use of this consumable is some calculation (be it at update or when you choose the new stats) that your character has x% of MF that is getting wiped out……send you Y% of MF increase from the consumable. I guess they could just be planning to send out a flat MF % to everyone shrug.

Anyway, I get that’s assuming a lot, but what if whatever they are planning could be abused by loading up your stash with MF gear (Explorer or Celestial…not really possible) equipment and waiting for the update? BAM! +100% increase in MF….ACCOUNT WIDE! Worse case, you get to change all the equipment to something that might make you some profit (or you can toss it in the Mystic Flusher).

I understand this is some high-fantasy level speculation, but it certainly sounds like something that could happen in this game.

That’s not going to happen. The only things that will add to your account-wide MF bonus is the bonus you get from Achievement Chests, and however the new Essences of Luck system is going to work.

All weapons/armor/trinkets/runes/sigils that currently have a MF bonus will become account-bound, and you get a chance to swap it to another crafted stat spread of your choice. You haven’t “lost” anything by this (except Celestial gear, which just flat out loses the MF bonus, so I agree you do have a case there).

MF food is unchanged.

MF utility infusions are unchanged, which is a bit strange, but I guess given the fact that so far only amulets can have utility infusion slots, the stat bonus lost from having one MF infusion was deemed to be acceptable.
