Or Pay2Participat. Pay2Play. Either way, that infinite coin move was not cool, maan.

I felt it at gauntlet and Liadri. When I spent about 60g on the tickets and gearing my warrior into a zerker, because I don’t like playing as a zerker. Of Course, I got all achievements except the two Liadri ones. I wouldn’t get the other ones without spending 30g on zerk stuff.

But that was gauntlet.

SAB = Pure. Pay. To. Win.

No Infinite Coin = no achievements

It’s one thing to give people a choice to buy cosmetics and such, but when you try to force us to buy something that’s not just cosmetic, that is needed and required in order to finish tribulation mode, well that’s just not cool.

But, I learned my lesson with gauntlet and liadri.

No coin for me, and after only one single try of tribulation mode, I’ve decided to ignore it completly as if you’ve never made it. I wish I would’ve done that with Gauntlets.

I will however finish the normal achievements for the normal people, the ones that are in style with LS achievements since launch. The fun, easy, laid back n relaxed ones.

I will say this though, I’m happy that you told people in advance it’s super hard and only made for 1337 players, lol. I wish you would’ve said so with Liadri so I wouldn’t have even bothered with it in the first place and just done the fun easy stuff.

Other than that, the whole thing is allright.

I see where the game is going though.
You want to bury casual players.

Btw, if this was permanent content, I wouldn’t complain.
If Gauntlet was permanent, I wouldn’t complain either.

It’s the temporary-ness of the whole thing that makes it unpleasant and a huge turn off to even try doing it. The 1337 content like tribulation mode and liadri, i mean.

The infinite coin is really on needed if you either want a more relaxing time or are planning on being a day 1 achiever/explorer, since that can be costly. If you don’t care about being first however, just watch a guide.

When it comes to farming baubles to get continues, farming gold and just buying the infinite coin is more efficient.

I wish you would’ve said so with Liadri so I wouldn’t have even bothered with it in the first place and just done the fun easy stuff.

They did, during the preview.

Can just farm zone1/2/3 in normal mode in world 1 & 2 for a couple days for plenty of continue coins.

I still have 30 or so in my storage.

one day of running zone 1, 2, and 3 will net you 7 bauble bubbles, that equates to 35 continue coins which equates to 225 lives, if you can’t do regular content with 175 lives then I don’t know what to tell you, and if you want to do tribulation mode then you need to be ready to lose a lot of continue coins, and even then i finished zone 1 and 2 with about 50-70 coins, so yes it is not for normal players.

Also now imagine that instead of trying to do every piece of content on day one you actually waited a couple days. 5 days of consistent playing world 1 will get you 875 lives. That is enough lives for whatever you need to do in SAB.

Farm the first world for baubbles, there are plenty of guides out that can help you decide how to go about it. Also you need to download Perfect World, Forsaken World, or Conquer or games like that and you will know the true meaning of pay2win.

In my personal opinion if you need the infinite coin to beat tribulation mode then this mode isn’t and wasn’t made for your skill level. Also there are youtube videos on how to pass tribulation mode easily, so no real excuse here but lack of skill.

Well I just finished world 1 tribulation mode with 54 lives(used 11 continue coins), and I also got the honeycomb achievement in the same run

skill? LOL there’s no skill here, just repetition, still better than Liadri tho, Liadri was stupid, poorly designed and just a horrible disaster

All of the achievements are possible without the infinite continue coin, it just makes it much easier since you don’t need to farm continue coins. It’s not pay to win so much as it is pay to fun. It definitely offers an edge, a pretty serious one I won’t deny, but it doesn’t allow you to do anything you couldn’t do anyways with a sufficient supply of continue coins. I did all the world 1 achievements without one at the very least. I gave up on doing tribulation mode without one though, because I didn’t want to just follow a video guide. It’s kind of a lame move but it’s hard to blame anet considering it’s a mini-game that only offers aesthetic prizes (and a bunch of achievement points as well I suppose).

Laughed when I saw Conquer there. That game was pure pay to win. I had a full +12, but still there was no point to it.

Sympathy for you Shpongle, and ignore the people here who just accuse you of having a lack of skill.

I agree with you that tribulation mode is pay to win. There are so many deaths otherwise that the only way to beat it is by alt+tabbing every 3 seconds to a youtube guide to check out the next 10 steps you’re safe to take. And if they were honest about it, that’s what they’ve been doing. It has nothing to do with your lack of skill.

If you want to do it without a guide, and retain some sense of immersion/learning from your mistakes, then yeah, I think an ICC is essential.

I’m permanently carrying 750 baubles and have now started to deposit them in my bank whenever I get out of SAB. I bought the ICC initially, but I realize it wasn’t at all necessary. 750 baubles represents 150 lives. You can max out on coins in a single tribulation mode level. Do you really die more than 150 times per level? If the answer is yes, I would recommend trying infantile or normal mode.

I don’t believe that you couldn’t get past the rapids, since those were nerfed extremely hard by the recent update. They’re a joke now.

Tribulation Mode is meant to be challenging. It doesn’t reward anything gamebreaking. You don’t even get a new skin, only a new color. Why do so many people complain on the forums until the challenging content gets removed from those it was made for. I liked it much better pre-nerf.

Pay to win means somebody buys something that gives them a clear advantage over other players constantly. ICC will only be useable UNTIL SAB GOES AWAY. Meaning this is not P2W. By the way, your second statement here I laugh at, considering I got my achievement for completing World 2 BEFORE I got the coin. Speaking of which, you’re telling me you can’t afford exchanging like 30 gold for 600 gems?

I make enough continue coins/bubbles in my daily normal world 1 run to do world 1 tribulation.

I am bad at w2 so I have no idea about that.

I bought my Infinite Coin after trying Tribulation Mode. I’m still on vacation, so I wanted to play SAB as much as possible and I don’t regret buying it. The coin is, however, far from neccessary in order to beat all the content, included Tribulation Mode.

Every completed zone grants a daily reward of 2 bubbles + 1 continue coin. That’s actually 11 continue coins = 55 lives, so completing world 1 will grant you 165 lives plus those ones you could buy just with regular baubles. There’s also a daily bauble after destroying the cart , ending up at 215 lives.
Even better, after you repeteadly run and explore some world 2 zones, you will be able to farm those too (W2Z2 in insanely fast using the shortcut, for example), which means more lives. Tribulation Mode is also farmeable once you complete it for the first time; there’s no way you can spend more than 50 lives once you know where the traps are and it rewards the components for making King Toad / Storm Wizard weapons so you wouldn’t need any bubbles at all if you want a SAB weapon (all of them, excepting some for minis maybe, can be used for continue coins)

If SAB stays for one full month and you don’t want to finish the content ASAP, you can get more than enough (I mean, MUCH MORE THAN ENOUGH) lives to beat everything.
For example, I bought 2 Mini Motos today. That actually equals to 200 continue coins = 1000 lives. I’ve died a lot for sure, but I don’t think I have reached that number by any means.

1) you can still buy the coin with gold (~25-30g)
2) After getting used to trib mode, I did all of w1 trib today using only 4 (FOUR) continuations
3) SAB is around for a month. Each time you finish 1 ZONE of trib you get ~250 baubles (so thats a lot of lives!)

The coin is not needed. It makes it so doing trib mode is much more relaxed though, that’s about it. A guild mate of mine today bought 140+ continuing coins today just from baubles gotten from w1 farming on normal modes (thats over 1400 lives). There are even guides now to help you through, AND they nerfed it! (I did it before the nerf and before good guides)
