In an effort to improve my times in completing Tribulation mode in 2-3 I finally went out and found Shatter Serenade, but I can’t seem to get it to work.

I’m in the spiky floored room before the Yeti boss and trying to get the shortcut icicle to fall using Shatter Serenade. I’ve tried standing where you’d hit the crack in the icicle with the slingshot and where you’d stand to hop onto the icicle.

Am I missing something? Do you need to be really close to the icicle, or is there specific timing in the notes that I need to use? Does it even cause icicles to crash down without having to expand the cracks, or do I have the wrong impression of what the song does?

It works on the big icicles and should work from the ledge you would jump to the icicle from. The song is 133 133, and sometimes the first note has issues, so 133 133 133.

The song shatters any burnable ice (frozen waterfalls), permanently destroys small icicles and makes the big ones drop.

i love it at the puzzle, makes the section almost trivial

Hah, oh my. I’m so embarassed, problem was my own fault. I visited the room where you get the song but never spoke to the old guy :S
