I’ve tried to get this so many times to get shop 6 in World 1, the one where you have to jump through a waterfall to get to the shop, and I’m convinced this is almost impossible to get for players in Oceania who typically have higher latency. I get it’s supposed to be hard but this is ridiculous. Would love to hear from some other Australian players who got this and find out how they achieved this miracle.

Actually after 20 tries I get about 4 where I get inside the shop.
But yea most of the time you die in front of the shop. I find it easier falling down and quickly jumping off the lilipad straight to the water fall.

That particular shop is just nasty to get to. It used to be easier a few patches ago, according to my husband when he got it last week. When he tried to help me get it a couple of days ago, we both were dying repeatedly. Finally he read a post somewhere where you land on the lily pad, immediately jump straight up, then tap forward after you’re already airborne again. After about 4 tries of that I finally got in.

I live in Queensland and typically sit around 200ms on a good day and I can get into that shop behind the waterfall every time in World 1. Like unown said, the ‘trick’ (if that’s what it is) is to use the lilypad.
Don’t fall down onto it from high up on the branch as you’ll have that short stun and the pad will disappear and you’ll die to poison damage from the water. Carefully bounce/fall down to the rocks and make your way to the one just to the side of the pad. From there, jump onto the lilypad and then directly into the waterfall. You should take less than half a heart of poison damage before getting in. Even with latency. If you do take damage, smash everything in the shop. You are bound to get food to regen yourself along with the baubles.
If you think this is hard with latency from Australia, try doing the secret room under the forest. It’s the one where you fall through a crack in the ground onto mangrove roots. That last jump, having to bend yourself around the tree root is a killer.

The Tough Customer achievement is for Tribulation Mode where any damage from the poison is an instant-death. Sadly, the OP has to be precise and clear it perfectly, taking no damage in order to succeed. It’s a rough spot because that particular lily pad seems super-sensitive to latency. I’ve actually died as soon as my feet have touched it a few times and I’ve died a few times more mid-air after jumping off. It’s just a nasty spot in the game, especially with TM.

yea, i had no idea what i was doing wrong. so i just kept doing it over and over until i made it in finally. more often than not, i’d get the transition screen for entering the shop, but then i’d get OHKO-ed. attributable to latency i guess.
i have heard that Lianu’s method works – jump up first, and then forward after landing on the lily pad.

Well, I’ll tell you guys a little trick which I literally just found after failing this 100 times (literally).
The platform above the lily that is in front of the waterfall, do not jump down to it and jump into the acid waterfall like others have mentioned. Instead, do a forward jump dodge (pressing W, while running, then V+SpaceBar at the same time). This should literally make you land into the waterfall and get zoned straight into the shop.

Yeah, one frequent trend I’ve discovered with high latency is that the game frequently thinks there’s a delay between your actions. So if you jump from one platform to the next, while you’re flying through the air, the game thinks you’re actually still on the first platform, until a time when you land on the next platform, and then your console sends back data about your new position and the server goes “Oh, okay” and updates your position.
The problem this causes in SAB TM is that split second between where the game thinks you were and before your console sends back your new position data. This causes a lot of grief during running jumps, because although you’ve jumped prior to touching the spikes/lava/etc., the game is still locked on your “running” action before it receives your “jump” action, and extrapolates that you’ve run into a lethal area, firing back the “You’re dead!” message before it’s had a chance to receive your “jump” action.
Sometimes you can get around it, as Lianu suggested, by moving to the edge of the platform, jumping straight up and then moving yourself forward, so that the game registers the “jump” action first. This doesn’t work for all jumps, sadly (like that wretched jumping rock in the lava in W1Z2).

Finally after about another 50 or so attempts I got this. Thanks for all the suggestions people, it really helped. I still think Arena Net should change this. Perhaps make it so the waterfall doesn’t kill you, because having one thing that is significantly harder than anything else, and is so reliant on latency isn’t right in my opinion.

I’ve got high latency in GW2 as the sun goes down so I sneak into SAB in the (early) morning. Like in the morning, I can join zerg vs zerg in wvw with no hiccups. But at night, I end up having 2+ minutes of skill lag from the sheer amount of clicks happening from both sides. 8D

Keep at it my friend, i’m from New Zealand and was able to get it after about 10 or so tries. Try a jump dodge into it if you are good at those they seem to work better.
