since there will be a sendout to ppl who transmuted legendaries, those split-stones are supposed to split a transmuted legendary back to its original legendary..

ok, but what if i transmuted my legendary several times to match my builds ? will it still give me the original legendary or will it just split between the last 2 items i transmuted together??

in fact i made and used twilight on guardian then:

  • transmuted twilight onto a white greatsowrd (in order to make it accountbound)
  • moved the account-bound “white twilight” onto my mesmer
  • transmuted it onto a berserker stats exotic to match my mesmers build

will it still get split into the original twilight and something else?

  1. or will the stone split into all items used during the process?
  2. or will it split only into the “white transmuted twilight” & the exotic berserker GS ?

i know a few ppl who did similar things with a lot more transmutations between the original and the final comeout (moved the legendary between 3-4 chars with around 15 transmutations total)

i know we will see whats happening tonight, but if anet didnt think about multible transmutations, they could fix that before the patch goes live and ppl start crying (like i will :P )

interested in this too.

I had a fractal skin trasmuted into a fractal zerker GS with a sigil of generosity and finally into a twilight….

Will i be able to recover both twilight and sigil somehow?

If it was transmuted more than once, then you will get the original weapon for the skin ( the legendary) and the last weapon you transmuted the skin with ( the exotic with the stats ).

Actually I think it will indeed just pick the legendary like Isis says, and an exotic pearl weapon with the stats.

I doubt if the game remembers which skin you used to transmutate with…

Why wouldn’t the game recognize which skin you have on? Of course it does. You will probably get the last weapon you transmuted on, along the actual skin’s first version as an item.

Whether something is either wrong or right, someone will always complain about it.

i was thinking the same.. i expect the split-stone to work like this:

  • drag a transmuted legendary into the window of the split-stone
  • i guess the original legendary with its original sigil will show up
  • maybe you be able to select between the last sigil you put into it and the one that comes by default

i think we wont get the overwritten skin/item back too but i hope at least for the original legendary + the actual sigil thats in it..
