While I do believe it is going to be difficult, I think it’s being highly exaggerated right now by the comparisons to games with similar mechanics. Why do I believe that? It’s quite simple.

First of all, content like this, regardless of difficulty etc. Can’t be impossible to complete, which means it has to be tested properly and completed. But that’s obvious you’re thinking to yourself. Which leads to the essential point of the main doubt for its difficulty. Their core testers. In case you don’t remember, we’re talking about their core testers that in four weeks only 8% out of 100 managed to beat Liandri. Remember her? The super hard boss only the super of the super players would manage to beat?

While Liandri was difficult, it was not nearly as difficult as she was glorified out to be. I beat her the second day after 60-70 tries or so. At this point, about 80% of those in my guild have beaten her and most of them are super casual players.

What I’m essentially trying to say is that difficult content will be tested and will be built around the results of their core testers. So while it may be really difficult to this core group, it could simply mean it will just be hard for the majority of the players. Difficulty is subjective and in this case it’s based on what their core tester group thinks. Which simply means, don’t get your hopes up and have low expectations of its difficulty to fully enjoy this content.

I’m glad that now and then there is some difficult content mixed into the patches. Most achievements don’t feel like achievements. In case of Liadri each and everyone I saw beating her including myself reacted relieved and happy. Happy about having achieved something that took more than half an hour of gameplay and most importantly – some skill and rethinking of builds/strategy etc.

I never saw anyone jumping up and down in front of the webcam just because he/she managed to “complete the Infantile Mode of the SAB” or “killed 1000 Oozes”… In comparison, there is some video footage including very happy reactions in response to beating Liadri It’s just a totally different experience most of the achievements are lacking.

I don’t see why people tend to complain about such content. It doesn’t affect their progress in any way but makes others that are a bit tired of grinding achievements like lighting up effigies happy.

I think some difficult content now and then is a step in the right direction, as long as it doesn’t affect others negatively.

Regarding the difficulty of the SAB: I think as soon as the first few tutorial videos on the Tribulation Mode are out, there won’t be too many surprises when it comes to the positions of the traps – so it will be also doable for those not wanting to use the Trial and Error method.

Just wait and see. I’m sure the community will figure out the perfect way to do TM rather quickly, and post video guides.
