Un ..... believable.
Isn’t that achievement bugged, anyway?

I feel for OP. I spent a good 6 hours yesterday trying to complete both Master of Baubles and Secrets at the same time. When I finally finished the jumping and flute sequence to get the elite skill, I thought it would be over… But no, the last jump for the last bauble is even more difficult and frustrated the hell lot out of me. I was on a verge of tears because I kept trying desperately, refusing to give up my previous hard work (more than 4 hours already) while under pressure of time as it’s past my bedtime already. I finally got both achievements out of pure luck but both of them leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth. My rant was mostly on the numerous difficult jumps back to back of each other, combined with the very long run that if I failed one jump, I have to restart all over. Another issue is the requirement of a dodge-jump and an about-face-in-mid-air jump on a very tiny ledge that makes my character slip off the ledge most the time (or hit the wall and fall to doom). The last annoying bit is I have to figuratively glue myself to the computer for hours on end without break, because Masters of Baubles achievement requires me to discover every baubles in one full (long) run.
All in all, it really makes me hesitated in trying the next world. So much work…

the trick is to let everything fall away. like the buddhists say attachment leads to suffering. even when we get what we want it slips through our fingers by not lasting forever. is this the answer you were looking for?
I cried myself to sleep.
Indeed. The achievement should kick in as soon as you find the last one or reach the last checkpoint.
And zones are way too long for an always-online game in world 2.
They would be fine for a single player game, but this is always-online. Yo have to factor connection issues in the design.
No zone should take more than 1 hour no matter how bad you are at it.
No zone should take more than 1 hour no matter how bad you are at it.
Wait, what? Ahaha. So you should get a free pass to the end if you can’t complete the content within an hour? Not a chance. If the content’s too hard for you, it will take longer, or don’t do it.

No matter how bad you are at it, you’ll end up at a checkpoint in an hour. There’s no place in the gamethat would require more tries than that.
Then you leave, and come back at that checkpoint.

It’s not really the difficulty that’s annoying, it’s the sheer length the zones have if you go for the achievements. I just went through it normally and I have no real problems and the time it took was fine. Not for achievements. Especially not since I got disconnected after HOURS sob
It felt like I spent an entire day inside W2Z3 when I did it the first time in Tribulation. I was so tired when I finally finished it at midnight.
THe bauble achievement on the last zone is especially brutal. So much backtracking and convoluted pathfinding to locate a single blue bauble.
And this is doing it on infantile mode, I don’t even want to bother trying for it on normal mode.
You can do it in 30 minutes on normal. This includes finding all baubles. Doing it on infantile makes it take longer.
I’m getting super kitten ed off as I’m doing W2 Z3 tribulation.. but every now and again (maybe 40 mins or so) my net will randomly drop for like 2 seconds = booted = all progress lost.
Can’t ANet make it so when you get DC’d you at least have a minute or two to reconnect before the instance is closed? Really kittening losing my patience here.
W2-Z3 should have been split into W2-Z3a and W2-Z3b, and W2-Z2 should have been done the same way.
I think these achievements should’ve just been completed if you get all the baubles, not in one full run, it just makes them such a massive PITA.
Yeah I’ve just tried W2Z3 trib 4 times now.. spent the last 7 or so hours in there each time getting closer to the end then poof DC and all progress lost. Beyond annoied -_-
W2Z3 baubles took much longer than its corresponding tribulation mode.
Ariylana might have a point that doing it on normal might have made it go faster though, since there is a TON of backtracking for keys on infantile. Don’t know, did it on infantile according to guide.
I feel for your disconnect.
To add on to my comment about doing it in normal rather than infantile:
The rainbow clouds only help you scale the inner first mountain before the checkpoint at the top. They do not really help you anywhere else. The keys also drop from the exact same enemies as well.
I can feel your pain. I just spent over 3 hours to get halfway through tribulation mode on world 2 zone 2 and it booted me to the hub. I won’t redo all that. 3 hours of my life wasted. Zones are FAR too long for not being able to go to a saved place if that happens. I didn’t drop. Had just been killed by the tribulation cloud and was supposed to respawn at the checkpoint. Next thing I know I’m at the hub and no, I wasn’t windowed out and no I wasn’t out of lives. I still have 1 life left.
Just not worth the time and effort for a yellow skin.

Why is it easier? :o

No backtracking.
