For getting the essence of luck (which from my understanding only will come from blues and greens and not rares) will the salvage kit I use matter? Is it a “rarer material”? or is it a 100% chance?

Salvage kit type doesn’t matter.

I don’t think it is a 100% chance, but I’m not positive on that.

Actually in the live stream the other day they said the salvage kit does in fact matter.

The better the kit the better your chances of getting a light of luck and/or more of them per salvage.

Now I don’t know if that is actually true but that is what was said during the live stream.

So if that’s true I’m really thanking anet for the free 150 or so mystic stones they’ve given me in the last month from ap chests.

P.S. Anyone else get flashbacks to Aion when they hear “light of luck”?

They absolutely did say that in the live stream. They have since corrected themselves and said the kit doesn’t matter. It’s in a post talking about the eternal salvage kit being useless if what they said is true.

Sorry about the confusion folks! Curtis and I examined how everything is set up and the type of salvage kit does NOT affect the amount of Essence of Luck that you get. Please do enjoy your Copper-fed Salvage-O-Matic without any fears of it not giving you the standard amount of Essence of Luck that any salvage kit will produce!

Not surprisingly. They want to sell the copper-fed-salvage thingy, it would be a pretty stupid idea to then implement a new (and important) mechanic where you want to do your salvaging with something that isnt the copper-salvage-o-matic-thingy.
