i need help to do the jump from trampolin to the far platform. my friend been saying he saw my toon teleporting rubberbanding. i hv a feeling tht it is doing this due to latency and connection issues being an oceanic player. i need to know if any Aussie playing on EU server completed this lvl. i would like to find out the tricks. i hv tried pressing forward when my char at squating position and also tried 1 sec before she land on trampolin. also tried to activate dodge + forward but the dodge never work as i intended. my eu buddy manage to do the dodge + forward or even just forward key and he made it to the platform with bo trouble. a lot of time my char died with no reason or fall with no reason…. any help/advise welcome.

I don’t think you can dodge jump off of the bouncy pads (trampolines/mushrooms). The rubberbanding/lagging your friend sees is just GW2’s servers. It happens to my friend too and we live a few states away from each other. She’s not actually lagging it’s just the server showing you her “last position”.

The dying for no reason part is actually a part of that rubberbanding/lagging crap. Because it’s your “last known position” it thinks your hitbox is there too causing you to die. I’ve had many many times where I died on W1Z3 because I bounced off the mushroom while moving forward and the game registered me as walking off the mushroom into the water.

yes u can dodge +forward at the right time when ur char reach the jumping platform. it gives u further distance. but I only managed to trigger it once… and wasnt ready so overshoot instead of landing on the right pillar.
I just tried the second time from beginning and again, at the Trampoline part just fail so badly and I can not continue because it is no point. 8 out of 10 times my char die on the trampoline for no reason, a lot of time it just slide down with my hands and finger not even touching the keyboard. just doesn’t seem right. and no point to continue at that point.

it will be nice if something is done for this part … I don’t know what I can do.

You can dodge jump off of things that bounce you. You just need to roll at the bottom.

u also need to press forward too otherwise ur char might roll back instead. yes u can dodge jump on jumping platform. but with lag issues it is impossible to do it at the right time. this is actually quite frustrating

I’m in Asia and I play on NA’s servers. I was in trib mode w2z2 earlier at the insta kill checkpoint that spawns you on spikes where you have to jump on pillars and bounce pads to get to a broken cloud checkpoint.

My latency starts getting longer around noontime here so I was having trouble using the bounce pads to cross. There are 2 things you should remember here: 1) 2nd bounce is higher than the first 2) moving forward before you bounce gives you momentum. However, for oceanics like us, if we hold forward too early, the server will think we walked off of the bounce pads and thus kill us. Time holding forward based on your current latency. In my case, it was around half a second before landing on the bounce pad. You might see yourself walk off of the pad but you’ll hopefully still get launched up (and not see yourself suddenly falling a moment later) with enough momentum to clear the gap.

You might also want to move yourself a little bit back on the bounce pad so you have room to “run” (moving forward while you’re in the squatting phase). Make your move on at least the 2nd bounce.

Oh and Anet, this was the most infuriating part EVER. Bounce pads over a fatal gap where if you fall, you respawn on a checkpoint that kills you and if you move forward while respawning, you step on more spikes that kill you so that you can die again when you respawn (or die if you don’t move enough and in time). Plus the next cloud checkpoint is broken so it sends you to this cursed insta kill carpet to face the bounce pads with latency all over again.

yes!!! i was doing so well all the way until the bouncing pad
i raged quit yesterday for the first time bcos it was too crazy to continue..my char keep dying for no reason!
teleporting for no reason .. i need to try again and play it when all EU player is asleep!!
i tried to find the right time to use forward key taking into account the time of the lag and the time my char hit the bouncing pad .. but it is almost imposible bcos i realised the lag time always varies :-( :-( :-(
i will try again today or on weekends. hopefully i get it done. the thing is , it is hard enough to get one jump lucky and i need to do two of this to get to the boss.. i will update if i make it.

i will check bouncing height too thanks for mentioning. at normal condition i usually hit forward key on second squat landing approx 1 sec bfore it land..

Latency makes it really hard. I just gave up trying to do w1-2 today. For some reason I’m with 8 secs latency.

Just wait for your latency get back to normal.

I’m not entirely sure what jump you’re having difficulty with, but there is one really tricky trampoline jump after the bugged checkpoint that gave me plenty of headaches. You basically have to make a diagonal jump to a pillar that would normally be out of reach.

I don’t use the dodge jump, cause I have never been able to pull it off. Instead, I bounce on the trampoline, and as I fall back down I push forward and land just on the edge of it. This launches me forward just far enough to barely land on the edge of the pillar.

Of course, there’s more fiendish traps up ahead, plus a bugged checkpoint-cloud. So expect to do this tricky jump several more times.

Thats how I do it. Didn’t notice the bugged cloud first time I got there, Luck run I guess. But it’s really lame. ANet trolling device, maybe? I really felt safe after that cloud, sooo many cheap traps on those pillars =P

I made that long diagonal jump (if I’m thinking of the same one you guys are) about 1/3 of the time I tried it, but then I found you can just jump down to a lower platform before that eliminating the need for that long jump. Here are my notes for that section, I pasted in another thread but this might help if that diagonal jump is proving nearly impossible to some due to latency. This route also doesn’t require any perfect trampoline jumps if I remember right.


First platform has spikes. From trampoline go past red barrel to platform beyond it. Jump up two platforms. Jump down to second platform on the left, then straight to trampoline. After that trampoline, you reach another platform then another trampoline. Land on closest platform. Jump to platform just right of the cloud. Jump to cloud (breaks) then last platform. Run down the left side of the clouds to the balloon pump and checkpoint cloud.

Go up to the mountain by the left side. Skirt around the right side, around the corner up to the checkpoint.

I just make sure I’m jumping at the back of the trampoline and when I’m about to land I start pressing forward. It’s very hard with high latency though.

How I pass that zone:
First platform, jump at the very edge so that you can reach the platform above the barrel. Try to do it in 1 moment. Run, aim the edge of the pad and turn the camera to the platform above. After landing, just make your way to the platform above (approximately 3 platform).
Jump down to the platform below and make your way to the pad again. For this, I will slowly tap my way to the edge so that my character not bouncing anymore. It’s hard but with patience, you will reach the edge where you can’t bounce. Adjust your camera and move forward to pad, you will reach the platform above.

I am not sure if due to latency lag or intentional but the platform will make further when you are walking to it or jump onto it.

Good luck. Just be careful after crossing this path. There is bug that even you reach the checkpoint, once you are dead, you will be send back to the previous checkpoint (where the moment you are alive, you will lose 1 life).
