It’s a pretty simple question. I really enjoy the “jumping puzzle” Prof Portmatt’s Lab

for those that don’t know what it is. I enjoy the actual puzzle of it. There is a heart in the Brisban WIldlands

I thought that was great. It seemed people didn’t enjoy it because it required a little though, though not much in my opinion. I wish we could have more stuff like this. Puzzles that actually made people think instead of just blindly pressing buttons.

Have you tried Guild Puzzles? Sadly, there are only three of them, but some parts of them are absolutely brilliant.

One – Piken Square

So by your own example of what a “real” puzzle is, the answer to your question is, YES (see your example for an example).

To be honest, since everyone that does that puzzle goes and looks up the numbers that are required before hand (or remembers them from previous puzzle completion) how is it such a great puzzle?

Very few people fully figure out (or begin to care) how the button presses effect the results so most still just “blindly press buttons” (ironically, in-game rather than keyboard) until the correct sequence shows up. Granted, there is a “method” to which buttons to press to get the numbers quicker, but it’s a memorization challenge, not any seriously challenging thought process.

I fail to see how this is mentally more challenging than knowing when and where to press the JUMP button.

I guess I ripped into you example but your question still stands and I would guess NEVER (as the game has to appeal to the masses not MENSA).
