Q:
I died in tribulation mode world 2 zone 1. I had the screen in menu mode and i was watching a guide to help me do it. I was typing a comment to ask for something and in the time being i didnt answer if i wanted to use the infinite coin in time. DONT HAVE THIS OPTION. IF ITS AN INFINITE COIN IT SHPULDNT HAVE 10 LIVES AND THEN YOU GET SENT TO THAT HELL PLACE TO ASK YOU IF YOU STILL WANT TO USE IT. OBVIOUSLY I WANT TO USE IT I PAYED 30 GOLD FOR THE kitten THING. Now that hour and a half that i spent on that is wasted thanks to the crappy design.

Windowed mode.*
This crap sometimes happens… I was playing W2Z2 for almost 2 hours and at the end of the zone I run out of coins so I wasted my time too. But QQing about it on forums is useless…
I sincerely I hope this happens often to anyone that uses guides.

I second this.

Yup yup. This sentiment I agree with.

Here’s my upvote
The question about using it is because you can also choose to use continue coins that you have instead, and it makes you rage when tabbing out in tribulation mode and notice that you are back in the hub when you come back (I was about to explode when it happened)
Yeah poor design, something that give you infinite lives but just ten at the time,I think guy that made SAB is a most epic troll ever
I don’t get it. This is obviously a user fault but somehow the mechanic is to blame? I mean I have plenty of things I want to complain about when it comes to Anet but this one aren’t one of them.
There shouldn’t be a timer. This would solve all problems. I don’t see why there a timer is needed. It’s not WvW or sPvP and most people solo it. Should not be a big problem to the server if the player is spawned back to hub or if he stays there a bit longer.
I usually go afk longer only if I’m in a safe place(shops are best).
So… you stopped paying attention to the game, and it’s Anet’s fault?
I’m sorry this happend to you but it is in no way bad design. You ult tabbed after you died, if you were keeping track of your lives you would have known the continue screen was next.
Second, a player may still wish to use his continue coins even if they have the inifnite coin. They are worthless otherwise so their is no need to save them, and if you use them 5 or 10 at a time you get many more then just the 10 lives.
Can I demand back all the gauntlet tickets I wasted because I had the forum up while I was queuing and (even though I could still see the game on the other 1/2 the screen) I failed to notice my match had started?

I’m not going to waste hours on this to figure out the path when i could save the anger and time by looking up a guide. Sorry im not a masochist like some of you and dont like to run around aimlessly trying to find my way through this.

And regardless its a useless design, i have the coin so im obviously not going to choose to use my other coins, or to not do it at all.
I agree with udiedhowyafeel on the guides. Some people seem to be offended if others use a guide and get the achievement much easier.
But think about it… if nobody used guides then probably only a very small percentage of people would complete this. That’s not what ArenaNet intended.
Even with the guides some jumps are hard doing stuff like collecting baubles takes a lot of time… this is not about being hard or easy. And even Dulfy has a lot of help when making these guides(people helping her and sending her info or telling her of easier ways to get stuff).
A lot of people just don’t have that much time. Yes I know you can do all the stuff in a few hours but I’m not that fast. For Clocktower back then I needed 8-9 hours of training… then I could pass it 60-70 percent of my tries. Others did it in 30 minutes training or just at the first or 2nd try without problems.
On SAB I hear people saying “takes only 20 minutes” when I need 1 hour even with guide. Not everyone is pro and can do the tribulation mode without guide at first try with less then 50 deaths and then at 2nd try immediately without dying and in less then 10 minutes farming per zone.
Also a lot of people work and have other hobbies or other video games to play. Considering it takes a lot of time to complete all this stuff – even with guides – it is totally okay to use these guides.
That’s the fun in MMORPG. People can have fun using guides. Others have fun without guides… and then some people have fun to make these guides and being thanked by thousands of other players that use the guides.
“probably only a very small percentage of people would complete this. That’s not what ArenaNet intended.”
That is exactly how it is intended…
This is not for people with only an hour a day of playtime, this is not for casuals with so called " lives " this is not for the majority of gw2 players.
This is why there is a normal mode.
Normal mode collecting all baubles also needs guides if you don’t want to spend endless hours of looking for secret rooms and lots of tries where you think you got all the baubles when you forgot some secret room somewhere.
