Q:

Searched around and didn’t see anything about this, and I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

Recently, Super Adventure Box (SAB) has been unplayable for me, due to a weird and incorrect ‘failed jump’ issue…

Happens in any world (well, 1-2) and zone that involves a death-defying jump (i.e. fall = loss of life). I successfully make the jump (as I’ve routinely done a dozen times prior) and within the next 1-2 seconds, I get the death fade & reset to last checkpoint (-1up). It’s pretty f-ing sweet, when you can’t even pass 1-1’s 2nd checkpoint, lemme tell ya.

After a few stubborn days of attempts, I found that this issue occurs without fail (no pun intended) during “peak hours,” for any toon, yet I was able to run SAB without issue during the wee, quiet hours. The odd thing is there is no noticeable gameplay/visual lag in either case, nor is my latency abnormal. This had me questioning my connection and graphical performance next, which are both standard, performant and unchanged.

Long story short: I can’t jump in SAB, I’m baffled, it sucks (6 b.b.‘s from skin) & I’m wondering if anyone has experienced (and ideally solved) this?

That is totally weird. I haven’t heard about anything like this. Did you /bug it?

It’s happened for me as well. In recent memory:

1-3, first area, the flytrap jumps. Died and respawned after landing safely on the other side of the gap.
1-1, 4th checkpoint. Similar; died while on the middle of the platform before the 3 bauble jump

I’ve also died from green water while standing in front of the King Toad, 2 seconds after reaching that pad.

I expect it’s due to the same issues that are causing major skill lag in WvW – the server can’t keep up and doesn’t correctly simulate our movement because it’s not receiving movement packets or something similar.

Had the same thing happen on one of my runs, and it is kinda annoying. In my case I cleared the jump, got the game over laugh and respawned and before I could move got the game over laugh again losing 2 lives in that instance. I think it really is a latency thing though, because the next day and all the days after (so far) have been a ok for me.

Yeah exactly those places happen to me from time to time, when SAB gets laggy. Been some time that it last happened to me. But yeah it was at peak hours. It always seems to get out of sync at these places. And the moment it sinks up, you already ran to your death

For me it happend a week ago or so. I was like teleporting all over the place, dying out of nowhere, I had no idea what I was dying from.

It was a hell in the Rapids, I jumped the crocodiles and such, and when I thought I was on a safe spot (just normal ground and no enemies around me) I just flew off the ground, like I was standing in the water, and then died.

This isn’t only happening in the SAB. It happens in the battlegrounds too. Usually during or just after mega zerg fights in EB. Fighting on the 3rd floor of SM and die. WP to your keep and start to run back, and about half way back to SM, boom like 40k damage (single number on the screen – not from multiple attacks). Only time I see numbers that large is falling damage so that is my assumption.

I noticed a lil’ bug if you, let’s say you’re at L1Z2 and you killed the boss, wait for the timer to get to 1 and then jump from the cage fight platform into the green water, you can hear your hearts tick away during the loading screen for Z3. And when it loads you die instantly and re-appear at the same spot ^^

Idk about that one, however my character can walk slowly forward and yet jump as if she was running giving me extra distance I shouldn’t get.
