Guild Wars 2

So I was doing SAB with a friend, and he was bashing a crocodile on the head for like 10 minutes straight, because he was bored waiting for me to get up to him and I suck at jumping puzzles so it took me a long time.

After I got to him, neither of us could get the crocodile’s mouth to close. We tried for a few minutes, but nothing happened. It happened to me before, all it took were two hits, but I waited for a minute and the crocodile went back to normal. But this time, it just didn’t. After another 10 minutes, we gave up. Has anybody encountered this as well? Is this a bug or do the crocodiles have a limit on the number of hits they receive before they just stop giving a hoot about you?

I ran into this problem in world 2, rapids. I tried many things like changing my angle of attack by adjusting my position and where I was aiming, in addition to purposefully jumping into the crocodile so he would snap at me.

However, he remained unresponsive so I had to give up since it was the only way to progress.

In encountered this in Rapids as well, did several playthroughs of it but only encountered it once. For me it was the first crocodile in the segment where you have to jump from crococodile to crocodiles and turtles. I got him to finally “work” again by getting hit on purpose by him 2-3 times.

I noticed sometimes the crocodiles’ hitboxes can move towards their back sometimes. Not sure what causes it, but by using bombs or slingshot I can usually hit it which resets the hitbox.

when in doubt, throw a grenade at it – usually fixes any croc hitbox issues.

I’m pretty sure it’s because crocs are objects and it has the corresponding hitbox issues with melee weapons.

When it happens to me it seems to be caused by the crocodile being hit again right as he goes to open his mouth. The only way I have seen to fix it was by allowing someone to get hit by it.

Edit: I haven’t tried the bomb/slingshot though.

I always used a whip if i couldn’t hit.
