Lets say the spot under the water fall in zone 2 first section if you dig right at water fall nothing spawns. but if you dig away from it Baubles spawn right near the falls

this seams to happen with all spots if you dig where you know they should be they dont spawn so is this a bug? as i think digging should be like an area effect

The shovel only seems to work if you dig in a very specific spot (in that example you gave, you have to dig right on the gray rock). It’s kinda annoying because even though you may know there’s a spot, you have to dig around a couple of times before you find the precise location.

Maybe it’s so that the baubles don’t spawn right on top of you and immediately get collected before you can see what they are.

It’s not a bug, it’s a mechanic. By digging “here” you reveal baubles “there.” You aren’t actually digging up those baubles. You have a 10% chance to dig something up with the shovel. Sometimes it’s a bauble, and sometimes it’s an angry bunny. For those locations you will always reveal the same number and type of baubles in the same location. They’re easter eggs.
