I like SAB a lot and I do few speed runs every day…you could say I am looking forward to it.

However, I have noticed that the only moment when I feel like it is a grind and I am not enjoying it, is when I have to auroattack the cages at the end of each zone while watching closly the boss to avoid the beam. It seems little bit too repetitive….I’m still not annoyed fighting the frog (I like it takes only 2 crystals to kill it so it doesnt feel extremely long)

How do you guys feel about them? I just hope we won’t have to hammer on those cages in every future zone. Hopefully we’ll get something else…or at least something that destroys the cages really fast.

well dataminers have already found items for weapon upgrades so I daresay even if the cages appear again (though hopefully wont) they should be faster and less grindy.

Personally I don’t mind them so much (but then I don’t do SAB repeatedly per day) first cage is a simple end of zone thing, second is a slightly more difficult version both simple enough and don’t take too long but Im not sure what they can do to it to make it different each time beyond what they’ve already really done.

To extend what Dasorine has said, Mr. Foreman has stated that there are upgrades to weapons that will make them do more damage and cost more baubles. The final bomb upgrade is the same as the Adventure Box Finisher explosion.

to make it a bit less of a task 1st cage stand on lower ledge on the side the monkey is and auto hit there you will not get hit by lazer.

2nd cage stand on the mushroom that release the bounce cap and you will not get hit.

keep in mind that it might take practice to find the precise spot

I don’t mind the concept at all, but think they’re way too long and easy. I’d prefer it if the boss fired more often and the cage itself had half it’s current HP.

A lot of the old 8-bit game bosses took longer than a minute to defeat. If anything, the health should stay the same but the mechanics to defeat the boss should become more difficult.

I think it would be cool if at the later levels the beam will blow out chunks out of the platform. :P

Definitely agree about the HP. Whenever I run SAB with a friend the amount of time it takes for 2 players to kill it is about how I feel it should be solo.

Well if you make it more complicated then it is it could be a slight grind, but usually I stand in one spot attacking and only jump to the side when he targets me, it only takes a few times… no running in circles and/or glitches needed!

Unfortunately the box isn’t perfect and as one stated there are certain spots you can stand and basically go afk on the cages. I personally feel like those “spots” were not intentional, and I choose not abuse them or character deletion farming as it’s simply not gratifying for me, and I have a sense of morals lol

With that said I do hope they change this bit of the instance to make it a bit more of the challenge it was meant to be

I’m ok with them. The 2nd one you can use the mushroom in the tree to spring to the rim of the tree and slingshot the cage down.

Everyone enjoys watching cage fights!
…oh wait, were we talking about the ones in the game?

They are a bit slow and repetitive but it is a cage… and you are whapping it with a stick.
I think that they are fine since it would be too much work to make a unique boss after every zone although I would would agree with the whole more lasers less health idea.

I dislike it especially the 2nd one. I get that the not having room to dodge was probably a difficulty measure but it just feels cheap to me.

The health of the cages needs to scale, similar to King Toad, but for the most part they’re brain-dead easy. Just run around it in a circle while auto-attacking.

They were perfectly fine at first, but I will agree that they are the most tedious part of repeated playthroughs by far.

World 1 cages are meant to be a cake-walk. The problem comes with grinding and feeling the need to fight them 20 times a day. That’s a problem I hope to address next release. Also the cages in future worlds will have more interesting attack patterns that will require some level of strategy. Also I fully endorse finding secret spots where bosses can’t hit you. That’s part of classic platform game strategy.

A lot of the old 8-bit game bosses took longer than a minute to defeat. If anything, the health should stay the same but the mechanics to defeat the boss should become more difficult.

If you want to relate everything to the old 8-bit era then the bosses should 1-hit kill you when touched. And also spawn a million shooting balls flying across the screen that you have to avoid. Which also 1-hit kill you.

I personally don’t mind the cage fight, as long as they don’t implement it in all stages. All bosses should be different. With their own unique attack moves. Like the frog. Excellent work. Fun to fight him.

Well.. that kinda is your fault. You see, there are many people with multiple alts who we all want to gear up with Super weapons. Requiring us to open 25 chests for 1 skin, it’s kinda hard to avoid the need for grinding it.

Don’t grind then, you always can buy those skins from TP, not a big deal.

Nice to hear that….those safe spot actually made the cage fights something to look forward to (you just have alt-tab back into the game at the right moment ) thanks @PolarTank

People grind because it is faster for them to grind baubles than to grind the money they would need for the skins. Not a great advice, sorry dude…

I don’t have any problem with it. It feels very platformer to me, which is the point. 8-bit bosses don’t typically have a lot going on with them, and you just spew attacks at them. Plus, once you’re fully upgraded at the end you’ll probably we walking through the early cages like they’re not there.

It was not intended to be one.

I’m just saying that 20 toons you want the skins for are your problem, and you’re the only one who to blame. Not devs, especially Josh, who gave us the most easier way to obtain event skins so far.
