I mean by all means, praise Anet for good things they do..but i don’t think they changed anything around this time?

I think people are referring to the recent Fused Weapon skins when they are citing RNG here.

Wintersday and Lost Shores, unless I’m mistaken.

I enjoyed the lack of RNG.
I had a hard time deciding which of the three I liked most. :x

Wintersday had the 3 account bound minis that would come randomly out of gem purchased chests (boxes, or whatever they were called). You needed two sets – one to throw into the forge to get the fourth (rare) miniature. All were account bound, so having useless doubles is a common occurance. The box was on the gem store only, completely RNG. There are four minis that come from the forge (glue, stuffing and frames), as well, but those are in-game rewards that didn’t require gems to purchase.

Lost Shores minis were in RNG “consortium chests” in the gem store.

Mini Set 1 is RNG.. of course you get minis, but there are such a wide variety, if you want the set, you’re more likely to get the exotics from the trading post. These are still for sale, so more will keep entering the game until the pack is removed (or replaced with set 2?) in the gem store.

Balthazaar is RNG, but for karma.. for me, about 250k (after considering the karma items you’d get back).

Ah… the Halloween minis were also purchasable in a 3-pack. But you needed to buy a second pack to throw in the forge, with 250 candy corn, to make the rare 4th.

This was an instant buy for me as well. If they were a random drop from the chests, I would have ignored them – as I have ignored the Fused weapon skins, even though I think they look good.

My wallet is a little lighter today, but I have a digital bee-dog!

Yep, this was really great to see. A lot of people have been asking for this. I also picked up my new donkey kong 8-bit friends.

Definitely a buy from me as well. (Will have to do it later tonight after work, since I was too buy play in the box to even think of looking at the gemstore for new stuff, lol)

The lack of RNG is greatly appreciated.

Yep I bought em too for 11 gold I just don’t like the blue glow around em! Please, please ,remove it! I want em to look like in the Super Adventure Box…

Are these minis count towards Miniature Collector achievement count?

I bought them not because I particularly had to have them, but because I wanted to reward ANet for a job well done on the Super Adventure Box. Although, I have to say, if there had been some element of randomness here, I’m not sure if I still would have bought them.

I’m not really a mini pet fan, but I loved how they removed RNG from them this time around, so I bought them anyway to show my support. I really hope they’ll see this is so much better for everyone and start to move away from too much RNG

Now if only they would remove accountbound from all minis (except the HoM ones since otherwise people would just spam the heck out of them) so they could sell extras it would be great (Really don’t see what the problem here would be, its not like it would magically increase the number of them in game, they would still at some point have to have been purchased from the store.

I bought a set, mostly to thank ANet for not selling them thru RNG. However I have fallen in love with them, especially the bee dog. He is soooo cute when he moves his head and pants. And I about died laughing when he scooted on his butt.

Lol the filter won’t let me say how he moves his head, changes it to kittens.

Nope, special edition minis are not counted toward the achievement, which I think is something Anet did right.
