PRO Tips of the day
Ty for that :-)
Fire burns the plants that stuns you on Zone 3
you only need to hit the frog king once, when he is about to storm left or right.
only during this time will he drop the crystal shard.
Hitting shiny mushrooms will allow them to drop jumping mushrooms.
these act as shortcuts for others or for yourself should you fall.
Sick and tired of spamming 1 to hit the cage?
Ctrl + right click on the attack icon of the stick = auto attack win!
you are all welcome
Holy crap, you just saved my fingers. I usually have to make some weird claw shape with my left hand whenever I get to those cages so that I can strafe, jump, and attack at the same time. This makes things loads easier.
Goal: To have one character of every race, gender, and armor class combination at level 80.
Current progress: Human 4/6 | Charr 1/6 | Norn 1/6 | Sylvari 1/6 | Asura 1/6 | Total: 8/30
Buying extra lives in the shops is a waste. It’s 20 baubles for a life, but you can buy a Continue Coin from Moto when you die for 50 baubles, which gives you 5 lives.
In the swamp areas with poisoned water, you can repeatedly jump to avoid losing HP. You can sometimes even avoid losing any HP at all this way.
I saw this tip on an ANet post and gave it a try – it really works!!
(If you aren’t already) start using the ‘dodge-jump’ technique for extremely long/tight jumps. It may take a bit of practice to get used to, but you will notice the difference!
Try as i might but i could never get the dodge jump thing right. Still manages to get everything with normal run jump though.
All items in shops can be picked up and thrown to be destroyed – destroying them nets 1 gem.
Shop door hides 2 gems, need to hit it with a stick.
So destroying all furniture inside shops might easily net 10-20 gems

Thank you kind Sir

Tell me more about the technique.
Edit: Nvm, I found out on my own. As a connoisseur of the jumping arts I LOVE YOU! This will come so much in handy!

OK people, post all your pro tips!

Marry me? Seriously, this is the best tip ever.

Same here. I don’t think I’ve gotten the dodge jump to work even once.
Never did think of trying to set the stick to auto attack. Good advice.
Please give us a keyring…

Looks like the perma-stun with the whip is not intended and will be removed at some point in the future. So don’t rely on it too much.
Also, as a tip for something NOT to do, don’t try to stand on the log below the 2nd boss area and bomb the mushroom spore that is hanging up near the cage. It did not work, but kicked off the boss fight and then I had one heck of a time getting up there.

to add to this you can spawn more shards then 1 I spawned 3 which is all you should need.
hiding in corner protects from tongue
To defeat an enemy, attack it until it dies.
Garnished Toast
after defeating frog stay through for cart while hiting cart circle and get what’s close.
wait till 5 sec mark then collect the other baubles.
go into world to head along river on right and get the red bauble behind water fall this should net you 60 when done
In terms of health volume, potions and 1ups are wasteful compared to a continue coin (more so when the coins were free/discounted), but they are cheaper so they allow you to minimize spending when it’s sensible to do so. Lives only matter withikittenone. Once you clear it, you can always warp to the next level. So if you just need a little more health to finish, you can buy a potion for 5b or 1up for 20b as insurance, instead of actually dying and having to spend 50b to continue.
Dodge-jump timing is very tight and tricky. I had the most success with just pressing both buttons at the same time, and then there’s a 50% success rate based on which one the computer read first.
If you’re looking for easy baubles, there are lot of dig spots close together in Zone 3. Here is a video:
On Zone 2 there is a shortcut worm.

That really requires going off the beaten path so to speak.
In zone 2. I can get over 200 baubles doing a speed run and digging on spots on the way. I’m just wondering if there is a need to make such a video.
To defeat an enemy, attack it until it dies.
Whoa! Is that from GamePro? Is that real? I could almost believe it is…
Edit: Never mind, it is. Yeesh!

I personally never tried the dodge roll jumping technique but here’s something I do that might help:
You can literally run off the an edge or limb, and right before you start to fall you can jump up mid air, thus slightly extending your jumps reach.
I have every achievement so far and I assume it might gain the same result as the dodge jump? Not sure but it works just fine for me
just a tiny one, also for the Toad/Frog Boss. if you miss throwing a gem in his mouth and he does the laser tongue attack, you can hide under his chin and take no damage (don’t step TOO far though cause you’ll hit the poisonous water).

Some tips:
- You can actually jump over King Toad’s left / right stomps, but it requires good timing.
- You can double dodge the King Toad’s Belly stomp, but it also requires good timing.
- It’s far easier to just grab a shard and wait on the rock until King Toad opens his mouth.
- You can easily avoid King Toad’s left / right stomps by looking at his eye brows. Just run in the direction of the twitching eyebrow. IE, if his Left Eyebrow twitches, run to the left pad.
- The Whip can actually auto loot many baubles around you, which helps for farming Honeycombs.
- With the Candle, if you use it then immediately Jump, you can burn Plants above you (IE, in Zone 3 checkpoint covered by plants). This helps for getting the Minor in Elusion achievement.
- Similarly, you can Attack Jump vs Gators while jumping on lily pads (Zone 3). This lets you jump the lily pads onto the gator without taking any damage from the poisoned water.

Awright, here’s another tip to defeat Queen Bee Dogs: bring a slingshot and a stash of baubles (for ammo). Stay at range, put the slingshot on auto-attack (ctrl + rightclick the attack button) and face the Queen. Step aside when she spews bees. This takes her down in like 15 seconds, solo.
With the Candle, if you use it then immediately Jump, you can burn Plants above you (IE, in Zone 3 checkpoint covered by plants). This helps for getting the Minor in Elusion achievement.
Many achievements, including this one, are much easier to get if you run through the zone on infant mode. On this particular spot, infant mode will just provide a rainbow that ends right before the threshold of sticky plants. From there you can torch it without any jumping around.
When jumping to a ledghe that you can just almost reach try turning. this gets you up just that little bit
always activate your shortcut mushroom caps
Tip 1: At the start of zone 1 grab the key next to the waterfall, but don’t use it on that chest. Use it on the chest at the 2nd checkpoint, it yields 19 more baubles.
- Tip 2: When you’re doing alt runs (with newly created characters) take 75 baubles with you to buy the shovel. It’s well worth it if you get all digging spots on the way (check dulfy.net). You’ll end up with 250 baubles in the middle of zone 2.
(Yes I know the shovel is 100 baubles, see tip 1)
Boss Patterns:
Queen Bee Dogs have only two attacks, and both have obvious windups; circle strafe her while poking with the stick, and just strafe away if she starts flying upwards: it means she’s going to spin attack. If she leans back to windup her bees, take advantage of it if she’s facing your ally, and attack her while she’s vulnerable.
Zone 1 Cage
It’s a bug, but if you stand on the grassy ledge two steps below the entrance to the cage platform and autorun forward, you can hit the cage without the laser being able to hit you. It’s not much considering how easy that fight is, but in conjunction with autoattack, you can go eat something and just watch the cage get taken down.
King Toad
Watch King Toad’s eyes; if he glances left, run to the end of the right lilypad (not the center, you can still get hit there), and vice versa. Knowing where the ripples come from make dodging easy. The only time you need to retreat is when he uses his belly flop (unless you have two endurance bars handy and/or are feeling good). Staying on the three big lilypads allows you to stay under him at all times, and afford plenty of time to pick up a jewel when he’s looking around (signal for opening his mouth) and throw it in. No need to keep running back and forth and grabbing a shard while dodging his attacks (especially because I solo with a lot of lag). If you do miss the throw and aren’t under him when he does his tongue sweep, try dodging to the right immediately after he starts to croak-roar (after he closes his mouth). I find I’ve never failed to dodge it going from the left end of the center lilypad to the right end of it.
If you’re a cheapskate, or just don’t know about Shortcut Wurm, you can get a free candle in Zone 2. In time this may actually be a bigger secret than Shortcut Wurm…
And yes, even if you don’t think you need them, activate the Shortcut Mushrooms. You will fall down eventually.
Do remember you need to ctrl-right click the attack at the start of every level. I occasionally end up just having to spam 1 with one hand full of pizza at the honeycomb or cart stages.
Note that it’s possible to go in with less than five despite there being five piano keys. Just stand on the blinking ones! Soloing is actually faster, afaik; King Toad takes only 3 jewels to kill solo. However, it’s less fun alone.
(edited by Sentrovasi.1982)
- Stun lock the queen bee with your whip to kill her solo
- Dig in hard-to-get-to places for bonus baubels
- You can also use bombs to hit crocodiles that are far away
- When triggering the checkpoint, it will sometimes launch you up to an area where you can dig for bonus baubels.
- Bonus chests count towards the collect-all-baubels achievement, but baubels dropped by enemies, and baubels from broken store furniture, do not.
- Almost all achievements can be earned in infatile mode. So why make things hard on yourself?
- The catapult is excellent for taking out monkeys in tricky places that mess up your jumping.
- At the crumbling leafs, stand on the branches they are attached to.
- The carpet of any store can be burned as well.
- Inside the shortcut worm you can dodge when you touch the ground for a speed boost(?)
- There’s 2 convenient digspots before and right after the shortcut worm (landing area & on the water front of the leaf one jumps)
If you take 77 baubles and grab the single bauble after the first checkpoint (second jump if you take the higher path) and the 3 baubles from the roll-jump at the final checkpoint, you’ll have 100 for the Shovel in Zone 2. You also need to get the 5 bauble at the barrels that contain the invulnerability buff, but that’s on the way.
Using that, you can then take the dig spots at Zone 2 for a huge amount of Baubles. List of what I grab is:
- Waterfall at entrance
- Hill after first checkpoint (right of tree stumps/fallen hollow trees)
- Hollow tree stump
- Front of shopkeep
- Leaf in river
- Poophole of Wurm
You end up back to about 215 or so, depending on how many Baubles you pick up on the way and if you kill any enemies.
With this method, you can run it on your alts and get ~230 Baubles every run (don’t worry about wallet or any other upgrade for your alts, other than the shovel).
This works with delete-runs and all the digspots are very close to the path so you’re not straying too far.
Currently sitting on 1250+ baubles (so few because I’ve been busy and just started to collect and hold them on an alt dedicated to baubles.)
