I remember before SAB came out, there was a code you could type into the game and it let you preview a pair of white/bluish nunchucks that looked like they came out of the SAB.

Considering Lord Vanquish wields a pair of Sword-chucks, it seems that our final main weapon in SAB will be nunchucks.. cause that’s the only way the final battle can go down.

We will replace the pointy stick though right?

I doubt we’ll ever get that lol. We’ll probably get your basic wooden sword soon though.

I think Josh Foreman said earlier in a Dev video review that the Sword Chucks are one of those unique items that well belong to a boss in SAB forever.

Now enjoy this picture of a possible “what-if”.

Edit: Dungeon and Dragon rules

Quote:

Sword Chucks function kinda like a Two-bladed Sword. You can attack with one sword of the Sword Chucks as a standard action, but you can use a Full-round action to attack with both of the swords dealing 1d6/1d6 dmg. You must make an attack roll (at highest BAB) against yourself, if you fail, you take 1 dmg. You can also use the Sword Chucks as two Short Swords incuring all the TWF penalties. Also, a monk can use his/her Flurry of blows with this weapon but still must make an attack roll against himself/herself to avoid taking 1 dmg. Sword Chucks add a +2 bonus on checks made to disarm the enemy (including the roll to avoid being disarmed). They convey the Cleave (or greater Cleave if Cleave is already possesed) feat and require Weapon Proficiency: Exotic. Any 8-Bit Fighter counts all sword chucks wielded as having an extra +1. An 8-Bit Knight may wield 2 pairs of sword chucks, although he must make the self dmg check for each pair of sword chucks individually with each dealing a critical hit instead of the normal 1 dmg if failed.

I thought I put this here for flavor text history.

Edit: Found it!

Never thought someone would actually make a real video of it. By with way people he is using “Wooden Swords” not real ones but it still would hurt!

That’s hilarious, quite the illogical weapon choice! Considering nunchucks are based on dealing blunt damage the intended effect no longer exists. With real swords you could accidentaly hack off a limb as well. Even so I guess cartoon physics apply in SAB.
I like the idea of a boss that slowly kills itself on its own though, makes me laugh while the boss dies from swordchuck use upon itself.

well like I said.. there’s a nunchuck model in the game that you can preview on your character. They aren’t swordchucks, they’re nunchucks, they’re blue, like the other Super skins.

Oh, so basically it’s a skin that makes your weapon look like a nunchuck when it’s just your regular old weapon? I could see that.

yeah, or I was thinking a weapon only used in SAB, replacing the stick.

Oh so you mean we could get to choose a wooden weapon type from the origonal Final Fantasy for NES? So basically you could craft your pointy stick into 1 of the weapon types from the above game? Also no retro game used Swordchucks, instead they were popularized by 8-bit theater so there is some trivia for the day.
