Suggestion: Town clothes inside SAB
Unfortunately combat happens in SAB so I don’t think that’s possible, unless you can wear town clothes while in combat some how? I’d like to have town clothes in combat, as I find it ridiculous that we can’t wear town clothes over our armor. Although they might come out with skins for your armor in SAB.
I wouldn’t mind this at all. It’s a shame town clothes don’t get more use (or any use at all, pretty much) and this could give them at least a little bit of life. Not sure if it would work on a technical level, but I would like to see it.
I have town clothes on a toggle, and I believe I’ve been able to switch to them while in SAB. Perhaps you can try running through without fighting while wearing your town clothes?
I’m on board with making it possible to just play in your town clothes, though.
I believe we should be able to use town clothes in PvE combat, period. It’s what made the costumes in GW1 so cool, and it would give us a reason to buy all that town clothing.
Yes, we can use it on SAB, is just the combat thing that toggles it off and that’s the point I made.
I really think it would be great and it would make sense, SAB is a game within a game, we’re walking in town, relaxing on our clothes and then we’ll play a game with those on, it’s a learning and entertaining experience, not the really serious combat we have outside it. I understand ANet not wanting people in chief’s clothes fighting undead and other people, but in SAB it fits and we’re in much need of places to use our town clothes.
Indeed, Dan too bad it will not work on a technical level. So perhaps they could find a way to have town clothes on while in combat without people in chief’s clothes fighting undead or other people. The inability to use town clothes in combat is why they are not viable.

I would love to have this work. It’s on my list of things to investigate. I want to see a walk-through vid of 5 girls in princess gowns rescuing the the princess.

YESSSS, thank you very much, I had similar thoughts in mind hahaha.
Imagine 5 people dressed as closer to bunnies as possible fighting a tornado too, 5 chiefs wanting to make snake soup, oh the possibilities for madness.
I want to save the princess in a top hat.
Like a Sir.

Then I urge you, sir, to make sure that morning suits, top hats and monocles are made available before that occurs, we gentlemen cannot appear before the princess dressed like common ragamuffins!
Why couldn’t it work on a “technical” level? Aren’t we forgetting that costume brawl weapons exist? Yeah sure, it’s not real combat but I don’t see why they couldn’t shoehorn it in somehow. Instead of leveraging the game’s native HP system, why couldn’t the entirety of SAB be one big costume brawl?
Instead of those annoying monkeys having 50 HP, they could have two Costume Brawler boon stacks, and each hit would take one off. Of course, no one really dies in costume brawls so I don’t know if they’d have to do some complicated programming trickery to make them disappear.
On another note, my engineer can hotkey swap to his chef’s uniform while still using a grenade kit (not sure about the other kits), and go around killing stuff in the normal PVE world — so it doesn’t seem like there’d be too much work involved.
I personally feel a bit odd wearing my combat armor into SAB so I usually swap my stuff out while doing my runs. But I suppose it’s too late for something like this. Maybe next time?
Not realisticly feasable to do that tanpopo, as no one really dies in costume brawls so it would take up way too much programming time to do with a large team let alone the small one Anet has. Too hard to implement. But they will likely make SAB armor skins later on that will look good insaide the SAB.
