Developing the SAB is good for GW2 as a whole. Because it reminds Anet’s
staff of past successful ideas in classic games. That can be introduced
into the normal GW2 gameplay.

I believe SAB will make the Anet staff more creative in creating future non-SAB content.

I really like being able to unlock new skills in the shops. It would be cool if some zones had their own currencies, used to unlock skills useful for the zone.

Also, the music matches the areas you are exploring! The music often seems ill-suited to the area being explored in the main game.

Also it generates revenue from a small team. That’s always good for the game. If they can bring players back to the game with a smaller team of devs, they’ll make a lot more money in the long run.

Can’t speak for anyone else, but my attendance in Tyria has been lax for a few months. The SAB has definitely brought me back. At least for this month while it is around. :P

The SAB is reworking GW2 mechanics into less refined mechanics, so that’s not what it’s doing at all. The SAB offers much needed variety of gameplay for PvE though.

My only concern is that it is yet more temporary content. I’ll be making the most of it whilst it’s here, of course – but as with the Halloween event I’ll be very saddened when it is gone. Mostly because currently the associated mini-games are much more fun than a lot of the stuff that makes up the ‘main’ game.
