whats up with prices for super skins in bltc?
someone placed a gargantuan number of orders. they’re trying to raise the price. I’m not sure it’ll be effective in the long run as now people have more motivation to farm them and ultimately he’ll have 1000s to sell which means he wont be able to keep them at that price.
I missed the shenanigans last night, have one sitting in my bank, would have gladly sold it for 45g to the mystery price manipulator.

alright thanks. i just found a shield skin i guess i should sell it right now?
Some person (or persons) are jumping the gun. I can’t even fathom why someone would do their bulk purchasing now with almost a full 3 weeks left of SAB. Supply is going to keep increasing as people continue to farm it while demand decreases as people get their desired weapon skins.
I don’t know why anyone would ever buy one of the skins from the BLTH to begin with. It’s not hard to get 50 Bubble Baubles.
let helping this " mysterious" person by calling for anet to make SAB permanent. we’ll enjoy seeing some thoughsand of skin appear out of nowhere.

Yeah i agree be good to see Anet throw a curve ball at the tp flippers
also they dont buy it to use, they stock it till some months later and resell for ten time. like 200g. Greatsaw halloween skin is an example.
idk why people bother to buy that skin for 15-200g, i rather make vision of the mist for foefire or just go for legendary precursor
Whoever’s stocking up on the skins now is in for a losing proposition. Josh has already confirmed that the SAB will be returning at some point in the future (and not a “next year” basis), so there will be more chances to earn the skin again.
@Noviere: I imagine it’s for people who just HATE jumping puzzles, but want the skin.
The SAB skins are not even remotely like the greatsaw. The greatsaw was an RNG drop from BLCs during an annual event. SAB isn’t annual and since you can easily buy the skins from Moto with baubles there is no RNG-forced rarity involved.
Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see SAB make a return by mid to late summer between the end of Living Story and Halloween. That’s my speculation.

This post by the dev makes me believe that new worlds will come with new skins. Or else what would be the point of running a harder world if the same reward can be gotten with less effort. It’s all speculation but we’ll just have to wait and see. However if that’s the case supply will drop cause most people will be running the tougher worlds 24/7 for the new skins.

If we assume that a bunch of people try to manipulate the price rather than many people wanting the skins, the manipulators are not being very skilled. Usally you try to drive the price of goods that are limited in supply or at least hard to get.
Neither is the case here. I doubt people would be willing to pay 30g for a skin you can get through faming 2 days max. O.o
It could also just be a coincidence. Maybe there really are so many people that like these skins… but hey, it’s our profit

Fun / challenge / achievements / titles / experiencing new content?
If they did make skins available only via different Worlds (I doubt they would do this), you would get this as a result:
Greatsword available from farming W1-Z1 (very easy)
Pistol / Dagger / etc available from farming W2+ (much more difficult)
Not very equitable.
They should just wait until the end of the month when SAB goes away to manipulate prices. I’m pretty sure the gs skin will jump to 46 gold without the help of manipulators.

Still too risky. SAB will come back, maybe not next month but who knows when?? If you stock them up and it returns you’ll be sitting on a huge junk of weapons you can only sell at a loss.
It’s not worth it and like i said: it’s so much easier to just grind those bauble bubbles.
I think the playerbase recognized how good looking they are and demand has gone up. I belive that they will drop soon^^ (i’m at least now farming SAB in order to sell the skins )
I am honestly surprised at how many people seem to believe new skins will be designed for the next appearance of SAB. They didn’t even have time to complete a full set of skins for its debut and it’s already been said that they will be added for next time. There’s no reason to believe they wouldn’t be in the same design set as what already exists.
Josh has said that there will be “special” rewards for people who complete hard modes, but I haven’t read any indication those would be a whole new set of skins.
It’s not that much work to make “new” skins once you have a base. Next time it may have a different coloured hue despite looking identically the same which would make the “original” blue ones collectors items. Speculation commence:

Well, as I said in another thread that’s both surprising and disappointing. It would’ve made more sense to me for them to add onto the existing set with skins for the weapons they couldn’t get around to this time. Not to mention strange that they weren’t able to complete one full set but would be planning a whole new set next time?
I agree that it’s disappointing, but as I mentioned in the BLTC thread about Super Skin prices, we don’t know that that means we’ll NEVER see the existing Super skins again. It could mean that next time the Super skins will be back with skins for the Pistol/Dagger/Hammer/Rifle included, or it might mean that each time the available skins are totally random.
Heck, Josh was simply talking about the rewards being different. He didn’t say WHICH rewards. He might have meant that the Rare skins dropped from chests change each time the SAB returns, but the ones purchased with Bubbles remain the same. Or vice versa; the Rare skins dropped from chests are the same, but the ones purchased with Bubbles are different. In either case, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the current skins will be forever unattainable.
Still, if you do happen to have a Rare Super skin with you, it’s probably a good idea to hang onto it for now and see what happens.
Yeah, apparently my brain was stuck inside the box. :P I didn’t even really consider the possibility of them breaking up the skin sets per SAB release. I just figured at one point there would be a Super skin for everything and they’d all be available at the same time. Guess not!
I think this would be the perfect compromise:
1. Each time the SAB returns, the skins available for purchase with Baubles are different. (You have a whole month to farm Bauble Bubbles to get the skin you want, so I think this is fair.) This helps keep the flavour “fresh”, as Josh said.
2. Zone chests in World 2 drop the new skins, but zone chests in World 1 still drop the original Super skins. This allows players to choose which world they’d like to farm for a chance to get the skins they want, if they missed the original Super skins the first time around. This also provides the market with a renewed supply of skins so it doesn’t run out completely.
Likewise, when World 3 is released, along with a new set of reward skins, zone chests in World 3 drop the new skins, World 2 continues to drop the 2nd set, and World 1 drops the original Super skins.

One of the best idea’s I’ve seen surrounding the SAB yet, and i don’t say that lightly..

It would be better if the drop rate of previous worlds increased each time a new world is release. Such as world 1 having triple current drop rate and world 2 having double when world 3 is released.
Please give us a keyring…

Nice idea but I doubt it will be implemented. For further info on this i suggest you Read the link provided by Josh.

Takes me about 5-6 hours of farming Zone 2 to get a skin, but even then, it’s not that difficult, people want to use money for everything. sigh I wish you couldn’t sell them on the BLTC.

Dang. Really 5-6 hours? I can’t even last that long in Zone 2. Dam motion sickness.
