Hello Arena Net staff members !

I wanted to know if it was possible for you to make the achievements linked with Aetherblade Retreat still obtainable in the fractal version of the dungeon when it will be released ?

I would looove to get them all because these achievements are really difficult to obtain and I love that. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough time to get them all until tuesday.

I would really love to see these really challenging achievements in the fractal version of this dungeon.

I guess it is because I love difficulty, and also because I am a completionist.

Hope you can do something about it.

Best regards.

Agreed.
There’s not enough time & motivation to do this dungeon twice a day and not to receive these achievements. So there should definetely be the chance to obtain them in the fractals version of it.

GREAT idea. I’m totally on board with this.

ArenaNet really took a lot of people by surprise with these harder type of achievements for temporary content, including me, and it’d be nice if we all, who haven’t had much luck obtaining these achievements the past two weeks, could get another shot at it when it returns in fractal form.

+1 for this, I was thinking about this today and having the same achievements in the future fractal version would be great.

I’ve always though that hard achievements are fine and it’s great to have them, but have them in temporal content feels wrong (I’m studying videogame design, one of the most important things we learn is that positive reinforcement gives faaaaaar better results with your users than negative reinforcement).

In this particular case you have to add that there are a lot of people that are either finishing projects at work, or finishing university studies and they simply can’t use enough time for this (and multiple runs are needed until you find the right group to get the achievements as most times it’s absolute failure even for finishing the dungeon).

I’ve resigned myself to let those 3 pass as all the groups I found failed to get them (at least I finished the Dungeon) and my friends were running out of time too to go for them together. I’ve always gone for the 100% list on each living story chapter (including Crabtacular that was another case of an achievement that either shouldn’t have been as it was based on luck on temporal content, or be part of permanent content), but I have a huge lot of work and I simply can’t afford those ones.

If they were transformed into permanent available achievements (through fractals) it would be great as everyone will have the opportunity to finish their list.

I’m all in for hard achievements (I’m a “God Walking Among Mere Mortals” so I can say I’m definitely all in for hard achievements), but hard achievements should always be permanent content (or recurrent content like probably the Mad King Clock Tower Jumping Puzzle).

Very much agree with this, to move the achievements to the Fractal list. That way the hardness of the dungeon remains and no one misses out because they couldn’t find a competent group.

Gotta say, there’s really no reason not to do this if AR is going to be a fractal dungeon. I hope they decrease the length of time to complete this one though, because I don’t want to be in fotm for like 3hours when you include the other fractals lol.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

I don’t see why this would be a bad idea. A lot of people just simply haven’t had time to find the right group to complete some of the achievements.

While personally, I wouldn’t care if it happened or not. I doubted they would do it, then I saw this:

We feel like our fractals dungeon is the perfect fit for this kind of “historical” experience, similar to the way the BMP worked in Gw1. Even better, it already exists and has explanations behind why these slices of time are available to discover and experience within.

In the future, you’ll see certain types of content that was part of larger story experiences be updated to work within the fractals dungeon and return there where it makes sense to do so. Of course, the specific rewards and achievements will not return since those are intended to be completed as the story unfolds, but the content itself will be used to expand out our fractals experience and serve as a place to continue to experience great (and strange) moments in history.

Personally, if the achievement is there for a living story I’ll try to get it, but if real life/time/difficulty keep me from getting it, it doesn’t matter. I know some people have OCD about getting all of the achievements and I know that some of those OCD people are also more casual (or don’t have time for a given living story) in which case, it sucks, but at least you get to enjoy the dungeon and its mechanics later in fractals.
