I see a lot of discussions on the dungeon.. a lot being its difficulty and achievements. The problem isn’t the difficulty of the dungeon, it was needed for people who want a challenge.
The problem lies with the fact that they made the achievements difficult in their own right.. in a difficult dungeon, with a very large reliance on having a full group of pretty good players. I like pugging and a lot of people do, I haven’t gotten personal space but that one is absurd at the moment.
I think they should keep temporary achievements away from difficult group-oriented feats.

^This is my only complaint atm and sums it up perfectly.

If I knew I could get the achievements ‘eventually’ it would be fine, but seeing how the dungeon is only up for a short time and getting certain achievements depend heavily on your party, I can see this might be the first special event I’m not able to 100% qq.

I think both achievements can be done without the need for extremely skilled players. First you should strive for the achievements separately instead of trying to get both of it at the same time. Personal Space achievement you can range and take more time to take down the final boss and eventually get the achievement.

The problem is I think the Personal Space achievement is bugged currently

I played with a party. Some of them quit after getting wipe a few times. Then I get more people to join. Some of them quit after getting wipe a few times. Then … Repeating this a few times, I have to quit finally XD. Some people new to the dungeon just have no patient (especially for the laser part). But it’s understandable ’cause they just want a taste of it.

Then I heard the achievement is difficult to get, so I might as well forget this whole thing all together XD. I am not complaining, but it seems troublesome to play XD.

yes. agreed fully. a simple fix is to make the dungeon permanent. i dont think anybody has anything against that. so please anet, just make the dungeon, and the related achievements permanent. the jp is going to be permanent anyway so yea…

besides, the people who can finish it enjoy this dungeon.

The only achievement I dont care is personal space. Yes you can, but make the whole fight become slower (much much slower)

But, really, are the achievements really “achievements” if they’re all easy to get? I would imagine one or two of them should actually be hard.

I think it’s totally okay for the additional achievements to be hard(the stuff where you need to kill the last boss within 15 minutes, dodge all AoE, dodge all Lasers at mid boss).

But for a temporary dungeon to have already the mid boss that hard(which makes it a problem if not everyone in you random party is good enough and you don’t have time to look for a good group… if you waste hours with 1 bad group then need to look for another… and still want to play other parts of the game or do other stuff) – that was not a good idea.

I won’t say “nerf it” – since for the meta it’s still easy to get 12 without the dungeon(good design of the meta). And the other stuff(monocle is based on luck… and I never get lucky… also you can buy it from TP I already saw).

But they could at least have thought about making some sort of permanent dungeon… maybe next time: Easier story mode temporary during the event time… than later a permanent explorable mode which is hard.

I’m looking forward to the jumping puzzle. Not doing the dungeon but the jumping puzzle might be fun – as long as it really only is jumping and not too many mobs(and then at least it’s open world so tons of players can kill that mobs).

I still haven’t got a pug that was able to down the last boss so i might be a bit biased there but so far this is one of the most unforgiving dungeons they’ve made so far.

First there are the silver mobs which i never liked in the first place since they just have to much hp and aren’t really that fun to take down. They’re only there to make the dungeon take more time and could be substituted by some veterans keeping the overall damage the same while not making a breeze play-through.

Then there’s the first boss fight with unbearable cc.
The pulling should be removed or at least make the target known with some kind of mark so we can actually dodge in time. Also the shielding should have an internal cooldown so the golems can’t be 20+ secs invulnerable just because the agro is unstable.
Also for bigger chars, like my gigantic charr the jumping is at least 2x harder on some of the platforms making the last phase a nightmare, specially when you get cornered between the beam and the wall. I know there’s some luck involved on “faster than the speed of light” achievement but the 3 times i got untouched to the 3rd phase there was always some screw up on a jumping due to either the camera suddenly changing angles or only getting one of the harder platforms which i couldn’t get on top just because my charr is almost at the max size.

Regarding the last boss most of my pug teams seems like they’re naked and are downed too quickly. Either they’re running zerker gear or the boss just has a little to much damage.
Also i don’t like the way we’ve got to stack on the boss to ensure that she gets hit by the aoe to remove some stacks. We should have some sort of environmental weapon dedicated to the removal of the buff, just like the tranquilizer gun to remove the enrage from the boss in arah. We could use that weapon to somehow destabilize the shield for a set (short) amount of time allowing us to damage the boss and this way the damage output wouldn’t be considerate so overpowered.
