Everything wrong with Aetherblade...
1. To not bug have someone at the bottom and wait for the NPC to say something (a quote) before you attack with your group. Hasn’t bugged for me since I learned about this.
3. There is a warning where the lasers will start. You just have to look at the center there is something that attaches together that will shoot out the lasers. This is simply being aware.
5. Dungeons should force people to adapt to different plays. Like changing your utilities.
2. Mai takes too long and is boring and repetitive. Instead of 4 boring phases make them interesting, like 100%->50%, cannons (only ONCE), different mechanics on 50%->0%,
I thought cannons at 66% and 33% would be a good idea. Also each mechanics in each phase – some easy mechanic in phase one, anoteher easy one in phase two and both of them in phase three – just like in Frizz encounter. In first two phases people could learn the mechanic and in third test their skills. The length of the fight should be simillar to first boss and cannons should fire for 30 seconds maximum.

1. I know of this, but sometimes she just won’t say anything. If this happens, pull mobs into her so she dies, then clear all the mobs. Once you res her (AFTER combat), she will continue as if she said her quote.
3. I agree, although sometimes the speed-boost of the final phase of lasers is hard to avoid if you’re in a bad spot.
5. I also agree. Every time I have a thief in my party, I tell them to spam Larcenous Strikes because they’re wielding Main-hand Sword. They never do, so what I do instead is target call on Thugs first, regardless of Veteran Strikers.
This trash is unfixable! The same unfun garbage by the tards that brought us Personal Story. I’m going to play Neverwinter, wake me when this ordeal is over. :p
… and how to fix it.
Now, before y’all go “l2p scrub”, I thought this dungeon was easy, albeit annoying and cleared it as soon as I got a group. However, here are some major flaws with it that need to be addressed.
1. Kiel bugging out right before Mai. Just fix it.
2. Mai takes too long and is boring and repetitive. Instead of 4 boring phases make them interesting, like 100%->50%, cannons (only ONCE), different mechanics on 50%->0%, Horrik enrage that can actually wipe you, not just building frenzy stacks and dying like a scrublord.
3. Spinning lasers can spawn right on top of you with no warning. Have them phase into existence like the shield on Evolved Destroyer.
4. Supercharged golems both block AND daze while being able to push/pull you into the laser wall while you’re dazed. Add a 1 second ICD on their buff and consider removing one of their block/daze buffs.
5. Both CC-spamming and chain buffing trash just yells “bring stability and buff removal”. Catering to meta at best, just have them do less bloody conditions.
6. Holdout event vs. tons of trash in point 5 is boring. Make it quicker but with harder-hitting cannons and maybe a single champ that spawns once all adds are dead.
7. Didn’t we learn that putting progression-blocking events into NPC hands is a bad idea yet? Why not have Kiel tag along with the party except have her be actually useful and has no say in dungeon progression?
8. It’s temporary. ’nuff said. And finally. No rapier/pistol skins. Add them as a guaranteed drop from Mai, or better yet, as a reward for completing all the achievements.
Overall I gave AR a 6/10. It’s not MWF quality but if it’s a team’s first project, I’m willing to let it slide.
That is all.
1. They fixed this already
2. basically you want to zerk. The fight can be done in under 15 mins with practice. I would like to see a closer WP though.
3. i agree with this. Phasing the lasers on is a great idea.
4. I dont see any issue’s with this fight. equip the right utility’s and use the peoper strategy and all is good.
5. More wanting to zerk. Learn your mobs, fight accordingly. Taskmasters confuse, swashbucklers bleed etc.
6. Im 50/50 on this. making it harder yes. champion not a good idea since the boss is right after.
7. Totally agree. She should just be hooked onto a player and say her lines at predesignated parts, and not be used to open doors
8. Nuff’ said.

Awww someone else not up to the task so it must be the game is bad rather than lack of skill and patience… enjoy your sleep…
Neverwinter will likely rock, but its still aways away yet.. and who knows Spring might become summer might become winter… its not unheard of for new MMO’s to push the seasons back until the bean counters say go…
1. You should be able to not bug it if only one person opens the door and the rest use the bottom door. So far, out of over 30 runs, it never bugged for me. But yes, they should fix it.
2. It is a bit boring and Horrik really doesn’t do much, but i guess the first times it was fun. Plus, keeps you on your toes with the dodge
3. We always had them spawn from the same location and we always stand in the same position, never once having an issue. Just learn where it spawns and you’ll do fine.
4. Don’t really see an issue here, either have evade skills, look at their animation to avoid push/pull, CC or stability. Regardless, if aware, you never have any issue. I always keep my distance. It’s a more range oriented fight – with that i agree.
5. If you want another COF, just do COF. It just means that you need other utility skills and to learn how to adapt. I see no issue with some more burst mobs or condition ones. At least it requires a person to look at their health, not just mindless whack mobs.
6. True, bit boring.

Story-wise this dungeon makes no sense.
Story-wise this dungeon makes no sense.
That was very insightful. I think we can all take a moment to learn from your amazing post.
The only problem I have with that dungeon is that last boss fight, The whole dungeon is possible with even low level players until you reach the final boss.
The bombardment is too crazy long, and some classes has to sacrifice alot of skills to have extra dodge healing and invis skills just to survive the whole bombardment.
Also about the bombardment, is there a solution on how to avoid it, I mean it nearly covers the whole floor, I see a pattern but in the end it’s iether burning or there is incomming bombs and squishies like me go down pretty quick by both the fire or the blast.
For an 80 group this dungeon is perfect accept for the crazy bombardment IMO.

1. Kiel bugging out right before Mai. Just fix it.
This has been fixed in the latest patch.
Though four phases might be a bit much, one cannon phase would have been too little. In my opinion two cannon phases would have been okay.
3. Spinning lasers can spawn right on top of you with no warning. Have them phase into existence like the shield on Evolved Destroyer.
The lasers do in fact ‘phase into existence’ but requires quick movements on your part.
4. Supercharged golems both block AND daze while being able to push/pull you into the laser wall while you’re dazed. Add a 1 second ICD on their buff and consider removing one of their block/daze buffs.
The aetherblade golem’s buff is only active when it passes through the laser field. It will last for about 3 seconds. It will only pass through these lasers to get to a player. I do not believe the buff is severe but forces the players to move around and not simply attack them from atop boxes and crates.
5. Both CC-spamming and chain buffing trash just yells “bring stability and buff removal”. Catering to meta at best, just have them do less bloody conditions.
Stability and Buff Removal are not needed to fight the Aetherblades.
6. Holdout event vs. tons of trash in point 5 is boring. Make it quicker but with harder-hitting cannons and maybe a single champ that spawns once all adds are dead.
I disagree. The event is to prepare you for the final boss which in my opinion is does well.
7. Didn’t we learn that putting progression-blocking events into NPC hands is a bad idea yet? Why not have Kiel tag along with the party except have her be actually useful and has no say in dungeon progression?
I can agree with you on this point.
