New Dungeon, (Golems.)
merge with the other post….
is true is really complicated phase please remove the golem shooting of drawers
It would be fine if the golems didn’t pull…
People really cant handle a little challenge anymore. All they want is to walk trought a dungeon looking at rainbows and kittens and then collecting wild amounts of loot for free. Grow up and try to use your brain on content where you acctualy need to move your mouse.

Lol.
Having half my damage die at the start of the boss, and if it doesn’t die I actually get punished for keeping my pet alive, timing every dodge and roll perfectly and not getting hit by a single laser unless I was chain pulled, I still couldn’t complete it. If a golem decides to pull you, you’re pretty much dead. Half the time I can’t see it pulling me because I’m so busy running in circles. The entire boss was a gimmicky fight. Stuns and instakills is so original, guise. I like hard dungeons, hard is fun. But theres a difference between a hard boss and a ridiculously broken one.
Garbage at every profession 2015
Yeah I’m in agreement with the above poster; especially as a Ranger.
At first I was really enjoying the encounter; but after a while my luck ran out and I started being pulled and instant killed; it was no longer about having skill but being lucky.
The fight could still be a fun encounter if they just removed the pulling; It would be that simple – I have no gripes with any other aspect of the fight. This may be the first living story in 5 months I can’t 100%.
How surprising, another disappointment of a dungeon, now they make it longer but a huge annoyance.
Living story is meant to be fun, yet it´s nothing but a revamp of old content along with a grind and annoying gimmicks attached to it. If I cannot obtain all achievements for this LS part, I will quit. Tired of being punished for having two jobs and very little time to play at the moment.
Yay for challenging content. The pulls are cheap though. So are the golems with the shield camping on top of downed teammates, meaning you get repeatedly stunned if you try to res.
yup, getting pulled threw lasers and then they just wont let you go anywhere. I wont even attempt this dungeon anymore. you cant even rally during that fight.
There’s a fine line between challenging content and just taking the kitten ….
I quit Rift over gimmicky dungeons like this new one. Problem was ALL of their dungeons were like this. At least I can just not play this one and do other things that are actually fun.

Challenge != dumb mechanics.
Once again, try other games, that have challenging content that’s not dumb like this. Like world of warcraft (one of the best), everquest and others.
This dungeon basically screws rangers over (their pets die instantly against frizz) and probably some other classes. So it’s doable yeah, but it’s not fun.
The pulling is the only thing that makes this unfun. Dodging, moving, thinking ahead about where you need to be and when, those were all a blast. Problem is, any strategy can be completely negated by a single pull. They hit, you die, instantly.
i have a problem with dungeons in general because the devs seem to like the idea of CC’ing players with stuns and knockdowns constantly, but disallow those same tactics against the mobs. Aren’t we supposed to be the heroes, not the chewtoys? I hate being helpless because the devs can’t make a reasonably fair fight, and have to cheat with ridiculous amounts of CC. Pulling here is just another example of what I hate about he dungeons.
^ This is the truth ^
These golems should not receive a buff when a laser passes over them and also be able to pull, stun, and confuse players; one or more of these abilities has got to give.
I also wasn’t able to complete the dungeon as the NPC bugged after the fight with Frizz, at which point the instance leader (rightly) quit.
As it is, I won’t be returning to this dungeon.

I agree with most people here – remove the pulls from the golems and the dungeon becomes awesome.
My group stacked in a spot on the wall where the lasers couldnt hurt us and burned the golems down.
It’s fine, I did it solo. Just stick to the outside.

would you mind making a screenshot or just telling me where the spot is?
just finished the dungeon but i assume that makes the extra achievement a bit easier
This is a kittening stupid dungeon

It was in a slightly recessed area where the light-up read-outs are on the wall. It took us a couple of tries and a lot healing and protection spam to keep us all up, but we came out on top. Not exactly and easy win scenario but with the right classes it’s easier than dodging around.
I am not a fan of this fight, complexity I am fine with, mobs pulling you repeatedly till you die is not on, this particular fight needs toned down slightly.
I have never complained about a boss fight before, but this one is needlessly frustrating and I rarely use the forum, but I had to log on for a change just so my voice could be heard in this matter.
Yeah, so… after almost 2 hours of wiping at the first boss I finally decided to call it quits. Could certainly do without the golems pulling. Fun times… not.
Uhh… wait.. let me remind ANET of the last time they pulled something like this… remember the tower from the mad king event? …. yeah this is worst than that.. that jumping game, although hard, is pretty fun.. but geez this one is kittening hard and annoying..
I don’t find it difficult it is just annoying that my pet gets stomped in 2 seconds. But other then that it is pretty easy.
We tried it…the pulling is just dumb….the lasers were ok until frizz added an extra fast moving one to the mix when you had 3 – 4 others rotating…I tried finding footholds where they didn’t hit, but seems the lasers hit everything I stood by. If they’re going to make it “challenging” up the party size..otherwise I’d rather WvW and I don’t like that crap. I think the programmers were either out of their minds drunk or I want to try what they’ve been smoking.

You’re joking right? This is no where near as difficult as the mad king jump puzzle. Is it challenging? Yes, but it’s really not difficult to work with the mechanic to make it challenging but really fun. More fun than any mechanic. Do not ruin this kind of content by saying it’s too easy when it’s just a matter of looking at your game and playing it.
If you have problem with pulling try to add more stability in your utility bars or dodge more, this boss was really fun no need to tune it down
Feedback: The frequent and nigh unavoidable golem pulls create a division between those builds that have on demand stability/aegis versus those that do not. A grossly unfair one.
And even if you do, you have to run at least part of the time away from the golems, which means thanks to camera angles and the bright kitten electric walls, good luck seeing the golems pull animations in time!
(That they seem to spam on an insanely low recharge. Which also means the more people get downed, the more they can focus fire it on the remaining players and exhaust their supply of countermeasures.)
Make sure the golems are on the outside. If you get pulled in to the middle, you basically die instantly.

Your pet is in no way remotely close to 50% of your damage.
It would be nicer if the golems couldn’t pull, I don’t mind a challenge, but constant stunning isn’t really challenging, just annoying. If they got rid of the pulls, but maybe boosted golem damage, I think that would make the fight balanced, while still being challenging.
After 11 tries, my team gave up and we left. It was getting too irritating and time consuming to even bother with Frizz.

Yes, I will add stability to my ranger’s utility bar.
Oh wait.
Somehow ANet has to make it so the group can select the type of dungeon they want to play. For those who like console mechanics and the challenge of making sure you have the perfect group with the perfect gear, then they should get an event in a dungeon like this one. For those who just want to enjoy the story, the content, and accomplish something in an hour, then the Super Mario mechanics need to be toned down to a bare minimum. This new dungeon is exactly the type of tedious twitch gaming that drives me nuts. Is it against the law for a mainly WvW player to enjoy some casual fun in PvE once in a while?

let me get some stability on my thie—
oh.
welp, guess i’ll do what everyone has been doing for months now. warrior and guard or GTFO
Boss is easy and challenging. However, the pulling makes getting the achievement quite hard! Though I don’t mind a little challenge and will still try to get the achievement.
The dungeon is fun and amazing. I love it. No changes needed except Kiel bug fixes.
Here’s my big complaint about the dungeon.
During the laser part, you should NOT be able to target Champion Frizz when he’s inside the glass.
Some use range weapons and when you turn to avoid the lasers, it chooses to auto-target him but of course everything you fire is “Obstructed”.

The main problem with the golems is the fight is designed around certain professions being in the party. One reason I was so excited for gw2 was because of the premise that no one profession would be that much in demand. There were no tanks, healers, dps. This removes the idea of personal skill though and replaces it with “how much stability can you bring”. It’s great on my guardian, but other classes are just not very fun. After repeated deaths on other classes I did finally switch. That isn’t fun though, and the ability to bring a buff that negates part of the challenge isn’t very fun.

PvP is about challenge, PvE is about gimmicky mechanics to try and give you the illusion of challenge while only really frustrating you.

It shouldn’t be that way though. I love the Guardian profession. It was my first, I have 3 (yes THREE) guardians. 2 level 80, 1 level 42 and leveling. It is without a doubt my favorite profession. Yet I’ve talked to people tonight that are playing it, but absolutely hate it. Why? Because they give certain buffs that are in such high demand, and they feel like the professions they enjoy aren’t viable. That is completely the opposite of what GW2 was supposed to be.

Try is without SYG. The golems become the worst part, the thing everyone is complaining about. “Bring more stability” is great for a few classes. For the rest, it means “bring another character.”

dark souls actually never pulled a cheap one-shot mechanic throughout the entire game, much less a cheap one-shot mechanic that you can’t do anything about (pulls and a third of the classes not even having easy access to stability)
Well seems they won’t change it, I tried 6 times and failed all due to tiredness from work.
I actually got promoted today so figured I could celebrate it, I won’t do it on GW2 tho, I won’t support a company that screws over people with little playtime.
Golems only pull you when you let them hit the walls themselves. I suppose that this could have been telegraphed better on the part of Anet but it’s definitely a managable fight once you prevent that. It’s not rocket science.
