Guild Wars 2

So we beat the dungeon after 2 and a half hours, this “aetherblade cannon” drops, and we can’t really do anything with it. My assumption was that you use the weapon to take down an airship, but there was no airship and it’s only option was to drop it or “do nothing”.

Anyone else know whats going on here?

You have to beat the boss encounter within 15 minutes for the airship to show up for you to destroy.

we did it within 15 minutes, got the weapon but couldnt do anything… great job…

Did you do it in the first attempt or did you wipe once by any chance?

Last night we did it in about 11 minutes and a new event pops up. Something about stopping the escaping airship with a timer.

If you beat it within 15 minutes (meaning Mai is down and you beat Horrik), there should be a new event pop up below the red dungeon text saying “Power the mounted deck cannon with Horrik’s cannon core and shoot down the escaping Aethership” with the remaining time before 15 minutes is up. You just take the core over to the cannon on the airship and you’ll have an option to use it.

If you didn’t get the option or didn’t see the event, it might be bugged…or perhaps you didn’t complete it in 15 minutes. No idea.

I noticed during the fight that the deck cannon was interactable, but we took like an hour to get the final boss down. After the fight, the cannon wasn’t interactable anymore. Just kill them faster next time.
