I have no more reason in playing this dungeon once i got all the achievements (and that took 3 runs). What is missing is the reward which the flame and frost dungeon has. There you could find a very cool jetpack skin, an exotic minipet, the tonic, exotic crafting components worth 4g and rare ones while here you can find an ugly monocle and the tonic that requires 50 charged lodestones to craft (doubtfully someone would waste those to look like a canoneer while the 5 minute transform sell for 70c).

The dungeon is short and hard and has the atmosphere, all done right but for the reward. Why do they not keep learning from the past? I ran the flame and frost dungeon about 50 times while this after 3 runs is dead for me. And don’t reply by saying the dungeon it’s fun so play it for that, because who would play the game if there wasn’t any reward in it? I doubt anyone would be playing.

Hum, you can drop new recipes (and not just the tonic one), and new helm skins. If you likes F&F rewards, what more incentive could you have ? If you don’t like them, it isn’t ANet fault in any way.

Which recipes? The only recipe i know is the unlimited tonic and I said that the cost of the tonic is more than 150g as it is now, that’s why the recipe will soon go lower than 1g on the tp, because you could buy a lifetime supply of tonics with much less. Also the monocle is so requested by the market that it sells for a fourth of what it the jetpack was selling for when it first came out. There are a lot better helm skins out there, we didn’t need a monocle.

I will say the rewards seemed a tiny bit on the flimsy side, but the guaranteed gold at the end was nice. Does DR exist for that? I only just had the chance to run it for the first time last night, I would repeat it for more gold :P

As for the monocle, eh… It’s personal taste. I know a few people who went crazy over it xP Although for myself, I think it would have been cool to have some sort of steampunk tophat with gears and shizz on it. That would have been awesome!

Hoopa doopa.

Which recipes? The only recipe i know is the unlimited tonic and I said that the cost of the tonic is more than 150g as it is now

Potent Master Maintenance Oil, Potent Master Sharpening Stones, Potent Master Tuning Crustals. All are 1h version of the standard master nourishment. Quite usefull, if you ask me
As for the monocle, I personnally like it a lot, more than the jetpack. There is no accounting for taste, I guess. The price isn’t much of an indicator, for all we know the monocle could drop a lot more than the jetpack. It might be a factor, but it’s hard to be conclusive just on that.

So, to sum it up, with reruns of the dungeon :
- F&F got a unique backpack skin, some new recipes (1h version of existing ones), a new mini, a recipe for an unlimited transformation tonic, a new insigna/inscription and gems (those last three can be summed up as a new attribute template).
- AR get a unique exo helm (not just skin), some new recipes (1h version of existing ones), a recipe for an unlimited transformation tonic, 1g.
So yes, it’s less than F&F, but the difference isn’t that large imho, and enough to keep a certain amount of players going at it.

Also this new dungeon drops heavy bags of loot, which average around ~3s and I get around 20 of them per run. Then you get around 15-20 dragon coffers off that too. Then toss in the chance at stuff like the monocle, tonic recipe, and the salvageable metals (~30s). This dungeon is pretty nice loot. Not CoF 1 of course, but still very nice.

I didn’t know about the recipes, thanks. I just bought them off the TP for 50s all of them, now really I don’t need to run it ever again.

Good for you
It was the same for F&F by the way, you could buy every dropable specific to the dungeon and never run it at all.
