Time Limited Chevos in AR
Agreed. Either stuff like this needs to be in existing permanent content, or if you’re gonna make these kind of achievements for new stuff, the dungeon (or whatever) needs to be permanent.
Please give us a keyring…
What kind of groups are you guys running in? I’ve been in multiple PUG’s and all of them have done it in under 15 minutes. Even some horrendously bad groups where I didn’t think it’d be possible for any one to get the achievement. Multiples downs and deaths on the boss yet still doing it within the time limit. This dungeon/achievement doesn’t need a nerf. If anything we need more difficult content. People like you prevent any sort of challenge within this game because whenever the slightest bit of difficulty arises you cry for it to be nerfed.
All I can say is get gud.

I don’t MIND the difficult content, I DO mind the time limit on it. There is a distinct difference.
Time limits = people go crazy trying to complete it = pugs can suddenly go volatile. Yes I have a guild to help, but that’s not going to be the case for everyone.
Still nothing from Anet yet…

To be completely fair, if you’re that much of an achievement completionist, you’d either be done by now or still actively working on it to the best of your ability.
This coming from an achievement completionist who’s been done with all the achievements since Friday.

Yeah I’ve only had chance to properly sit down after working all weekend.
I completed the base dungeon already, these things need practice.
I have all the achievements (except the one for talking to Mai in LA) for Sky Pirates and I still think achievements that require this much coordination/practice shouldn’t be in limited time content.

So you’re telling me that you’ve not had a chance to sit down and play for the past week?
I know you weren’t asking me, but I didn’t have the chance to sit down play the game for 20 days recently (missed the fireworks achievement because of it). Things happen sometimes – problems at home, internet downtime, strict work schedules, trips.

Yes, things happen, but having a life and being a hardcore gamer are two different things.
If you want all the achievements, you should prepare your granny diapers and your soda cans.
If you want just enough to get the backpack/mini-pet/whathaveyou, you can go on your business trips.
Emergencies don’t really care about your hardcore gamer status, though. Even the most hardcore of players will sometimes have things in their life that take priority over playing. It happens.

Never happened to me, so I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Thanks for being insensitive.
So far I’ve had an elderly relative fracture a hip during Lost Shores (-2 days of gaming time), a bad flu during Molten Facility (-6 days of game time) and another slightly more distant elderly relative pass away during the last days of Dragon Bash (-2 days for attending wake and funeral, which we did not organize. If it were our family’s responsibility, a lot more than two days would have to be re-prioritized.)
I sure hope emergencies like that don’t happen to you.
It would be a real shame to see this dungeon go away permanently. So I really hope they decide to just move it instead. Give access to this dungeon via Fractal portal or something (no reason to make it exactly part of fractals as it’s much longer and very different from the other small fractals).
This way the dungeon wouldn’t mess up the lore side of the game and yet people could enjoy this awesome piece of content even if they don’t have the time to do it right now. I know quite a few people that are rather busy because of the summer holidays and even few “hardcore” players that simply may miss the chance to get the difficult achievements because they simply do not have the time to complete them right now.
I know a two week period (if I didn’t check correctly please excuse me) is plenty of time to complete these achievements for a lot of players but it’d be nice if we had the chance to complete them even after the event. Difficult achievements are great but time limit on when to get them, not so much!

So because life happens, these things should get extended? But oh wait, I got sick so I need one more day! Oh he got an extension, I need a two day extension because I’m flying in from XXXX. Oh, I need another day because my router died. Oh there’s a storm here, so I’m going to need another day or maybe a week.
So then we’re back to the point of “why not just make all content permanent” Yay! Wintersday in July!
It’s bad, man. It’s real bad. I hate running around and looking at my party bar and its just greyed out life bars. PUGs easily owe me like 50s. Please, make this permanent or make it easier.

I keep seeing these posts. I’m legally blind in both eyes and someone is punching me in the face but I easily beat it with a PUG of upleveled Rangers in 6 minutes flat while gargling the National Anthem with turpentine.
It’s so disingenuous after attempting this with PUG after PUG and always being the last man standing watching my team die to slowly rotating energy beams or getting one-shotted by Mai.
It really is just frustrating in the pug environment, people are even resorting to “gaming” the system to get these achievements which support are even telling people to do.

Some more discussion over here it seems.
