Hello,

Just a quick question:
Where to find the Ascalon Aetherblades to kill to get the achievement? I’ve completed the Maguuma and Krytan ones by looking around for holograms (that you can’t activate) and that was no problem at all. Their locations were usually fixed.

However, I’ve scouted through all holograms in Diessa’s Plateau, Plateau of Ashford and Fireheart Rise to find out that all holograms there are normal holograms and none of them triggers the Aetherblades. I even went to a low populated server with similar results.

Therefore: what’s the best place to get the Ascalon Aetherblades achievement?

P.S.: One option is to stand still near the aether cache in fireheart rise, but that’s just boring… q:

I’ve been farming them in Vexa’s Lab (a jumping puzzle/mini-dungeon in Fireheart Rise) where there is an AR cache located.

I was in Diessa and Ashford getting the aetherblades… until the recent patch that fixed the holos that weren’t working. Now every hologram I went to was a normal hologram. (that, however, was in blazeridge steppes)

I’m not sure if the Aetherblades are bugged or not, to be honest. I haven’t seen a single one since the patch yesterday.

well this is depressing. I somehow thought we had the whole month for these achievements. I can’t do the dungeon, so was hoping I could find all the caches and kill enough aetherblades in the open world to get the meta-achievement. If this is bugged that’s really not going to be possible :/

Keep in mind, I don’t play THAT often. And I haven’t checked this morning at all. It might not be bugged, I might have just gotten unlucky. We still have time.

Latest patch (updated last night) claims to have fixed the issue. Any projector in the entire world is supposed to have a chance of spawning them. I used Fields of Ruin, since there’s a nice wide loop you can run north of Ebonhawke between the brand and the central camps that covers the reset time nicely, but go wherever you want.

I did mine a few days back, mostly in Fields of Ruin and Fireheart Rise as I recall. Note: for some reason I was getting the most Aether spawn in the level 40 maps in all regions. Too small a sample to say it wasn’t just RNG at work.

Some people don’t bother with the non-Aetherblade holos and as a result, the next person to come by is only going to find the regular ones. If no one bothers to clear them, there’ll never be Aetherblade ones.

I tried to farm projectors and the spawn rate of pirates was terrible in Ascalon. I didn’t seem to have as much trouble in the other areas. I went to Vexa’s Lab and just sat at the cache to farm them. They respawn after a minute.

Another cache farmer here. I feel I’ve done my part to make Ascalon safer from these pirates who were guarding chests in remote, hard-to-access parts of the world.

Ditto on Vexa’s Lab (Fireheart Rise) for working on your Ascalon pirates. We would also hit the non spawning holo projectors and then go to the next one and come right back to see if the new one spawned them. Though there were plenty in Fireheart Rise spawning Aetherblades in addition to Vexa’s so we got it done easily. The lower level areas were not good with so many farming there.
