Canach vs (silly) Thief!
I 2nd the motion, nuke it, make sure they don’t cut the power, don’t fall to sleep in a med-lab isolation room with a creepy English girl with a bad accent and avoid a face-hugger attack. Gaffer-tape said girl to your pulse rifle to make sure she doesn’t fall through an over-sized ventilation spinny wheel thingy, if she does manage to get lost, leave her for dead because she’ll prob won’t make the sequel anyway and finally check the landing gear before take off……it’s the only way to be sure.
Side notes:
Is there execution in Tyria? If so why is Canach still alive to begin with? Lionguard must be incompetent. Proof: Lionguard people let a random merc do their job, also the lionguard answer to pirates. Lol.Also ANet, having NPCs converse half voiced (Kiel), while the other it purely text (Canach) is not a good look. Basically I thought to myself you were too cheap and couldn’t hire a voice actor. Feels very incomplete and half-posterior-ed.
He ran after Lost Shores and is still on the run until we capture him. The Lionguard is just the city police of LA. Since LA is run by the Captains Counsel, they answer to that. Canach doesn’t respect their jurisdiction either which is why he slipped off.
Voice over at the end is buggy. I heard Canach but not Kiel. So I still don’t know how he is pronounced XD I expect a hotfix coming in.
I would just like to 3rd the motion of nuking Southsun..
Canach vs any character = pick up scanner…press 1 and 2 (no 3,4,5) on bombs…make him run into them. Repeat till health = 0. No other skill needed. End.
*PS. Bombs never change places. If u learn their position once, that’s all u need to know…u won’t even need to use 1.
I chose to do this on the most unforgiving profession for this instance to start off with. My main. My thief. It did not go well.
I jumped on my guardian. Block block block block. Oh hey, you’re still here Canach? Block. Hang on. Just let me disarm these mines first. Did it first run.
I am a glass-thief and had no issues. I failed twice asking no advice. Once because i didn’t see the scanners on the ground (lolnub) and the second because i didn’t realise canach could manually explode all bombs in the area so i got caught.
Thief is easy..u have stealth to get out fast and speed buff.

Ahha, thanks Meluna. It does go to show that when we defeat someone, we really should do it permanently [every time], otherwise they come back angrier, on god-mode and with crabs. o_o

Hehe you would think so but not in my case (bad player). Speed Buff yes, but stealth? Man he did -not- like me stealthing. Without fail if I stealthed he just went “Oh! He’s gone. Time to regenerate my HP.” This happened to me around six – nine times before I finally went ok, I can’t use stealth then.
The only time he didn’t drop aggro and regen is when I was downed and used the smoke bomb stealth. No, for that one he patiently waited to kill me – even chasing me around when I would relocate with the other downed skill. :P
Also thanks to everyone else who wants to nuke the island! Glad I’m not the only one!
Took my Thief 4 attempts but I did it. Patience is, indeed, a virtue.
Go slow, mind your positioning and keep an eye on your chat log. It’s okay if Canach smacks your glass cannoneer a few times. He hits like a level 3 Sparkfly.
Don’t use stealth. Roll to evade on knockbacks and on nearby bombs that are about to detonate, use caltrops if it gets too frantic and kite him slowly.
If you are downed, just die quickly and start over.
Stealth doesn’t make him regenerate. It takes a lot of time (and you almost running next to where Kiel is) for that as he will target you and run as soon as you’re out of stealth.
In fact Stealth is one of the best ways to make him step on a trap:
Once you enter Stealth, he stays on place, which makes very easy to push him into a mine with time to take the correct angle. You can also stealth and wait for him at the other side of a mine that you hacked and he inmediately will run in that direction when Stealth wears off.

Stealth was resetting him (to his starting location) when I was in there but sometimes he would regenerate his health and sometimes he wouldn’t. It seemed a bit glitchy.
Maybe I had the pleasure of fighting him while he was bugged with a karka in his epidermis. I simply posted my findings when I did it, and I didn’t need to hide long or run far to get him to reset. Back of the cave behind him (or even just on top of the short pillar, not stealthed) was enough to lose aggro/make him regen.
In the end I just made sure to stay unhidden and in range of his dash attack (just roll to evade) so that he wouldn’t forget I was there.
