Crab Toss: I don't like it
I want to play it, but it is too difficult.

It’s fun but slightly difficult…be patient and if you don’t like it DON’T play it.

I love it, you have to play a few games to get into it… and then you can’t leave it because it’s so fun to play. I saw a few decent runs from a player which reminded me of a great American Football run to touchdown.
If it weren’t for the karka, I’m pretty sure I could hold the crab for an entire match at this point
But here’s my body – So rez me maybe?
I hate the Karka
How can you hate the karkas in there? Without them it would be super boring…
“If you don’t like it DON’T play it.” – Really? I dont think so. The achievement system is really badly built. You HAVE TO play it, if you want that crappy titles.

The achievement system is badly built because you have to achieve something in order to get one?
The titles, all of them, are completely cosmetic optional rewards that make no difference to any part of gameplay. You don’t have to get them for any reason other than to show that you have, and it doesn’t really make sense to want to show off a title you never wanted to earn in the first place.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
If they get rid of one of the karkas it will be even harder to get the “Crabtacular” achievement.

This video basically sums up how I feel about the crab toss.

While the game is playable, there are way too many flaws to consider it “good”. Should I start a list?
- You spend too much time lying on the ground. Whether it’s being beaten by a Karka or by a plank, you’ll be on the floor more often than not.
- Attack range is inconsistent. Sometimes the #1 grab hit’s from 6 feet away, sometimes I can’t hit when I’m right in their face. Sometimes the targeting will make me grab an egg from the guy next to me rather than the crab right in front of me.
- The stop at the end of the run is just frustrating. It’s intentional, I know, but it doesn’t happen for any intuitive reason. You just stop… just because…
- I think there’s too many players. The game is really chaotic, and it’s hard to tell where the crab is a lot of the times.
- The game is called Crab Toss, but no one is really tossing any crabs…
Really, I think this game should have been cooperative, where everyone tries to keep the crab alive for a long as possible while dodging Karkas. That sounds way more interesting to me, even with all these issues the same.
Basically it truely is BAD from design to implementation. And I have I made my choice not play it, those who want to-go for it!
It’s an amazingly well desinged and balanced game. It’s about prediction, counter-prediction fake outs and using the arena to your advantage.
Just because you are bad at it doesn’t been it’s badly designed. Some of my most memorable GW2 moments have come from this mini-game.

Meh, I felt like I was sucked back into 2006 when I tried it.
Stop resurrecting threads just to spam your guide. It doesn’t make the game any more worth playing.

Quite a few of the threads mention the steep learning curve as the reason they don’t like it so I figure the more that understand it the more might get enjoyment out of it.
You have your opinion and I have mine.
