For those who haven’t done world bosses more than once a day before (believe it or not these people do exist) and aren’t familiar with how they work:

There are 2 chests that come up when you defeat the Karka Queen. One is a physical chest in the world (marked on the map) and the other is a pop-up above the mini map, like the daily achievement reward and gives 2 rare or better items (if you’re above level 40).

The first one is awarded once per day, per character. If you do the event twice on the same character the chest will be invisible and you won’t be able to loot it. But if you switch characters you can get it again.

The second one is awarded once per day per account and won’t appear again even if you switch characters.

And for this purpose day means until the daily reset. You could do it twice in a row if it’s before and then after the reset, or twice in one actual day depending on your time zone but you can’t do it twice in one ‘cycle’.

(If anyone is wondering this is here because I’ve seen a lot of people either asking in map chat or declaring it a bug and raging about how broken it is, so I thought an explanation might be helpful.)

Don’t quite get why the chest is always marked on the map. When I first entered Southsun to do the meta event I was confused why there was a chest on the map, and even more confused when I found an invisible object in its place.

I expect that is so that people can easily find the location of the queen spawn. I assume that either the map marker will go away when living world ends or that they intend on adding these markers to all chest bosses.

According to the event description, if you don’t kill the queen within 10 minutes, it’ll spawn somewhere else. So that wouldn’t make sense unless the chest marker also moves.
