I love this new backpack but… it’s rare.
What happens if I transmute it on an exotic/ascended backpack? Will it stay “account bound”?
I like the possibility to wear it on all my characters…

Transmuting things usually makes them soulbound, so make sure you transmute it on the right character. Although backpacks are weird, so who knows…

I tested it, and it does make it soulbound.

If the item you’re transmuting to (the item you choose to inherit the stats of the item from) is soulbound, the resaulting item will become soulbound as well. The soulbound status is basically tied to the stats.

Since 95% of back items are soulbound (the only ones I can think of that aren’t are the toymaker’s bag and this one) you’ll most likely end up with a soulbound item in the end, yes.
